I can't decide whether to watch the anime or manga....I don't want to do both because I get bored easily so if I see something coming it won't be entertaining.

The manga.
The animation doesn't do the manga's art justice, and the first half is packed with fillers. The second half is a bit better, but then it just ends.

Just be prepared to join us all in hiatus hell when you catch up.

Also I'd say both, but if you get bored quickly then you should really go with the manga! When you catch up with it you can watch the anime because no one know when the manga hiatus will be over.

both. however reading the manga is more fun, also plot is more solid. like iWeevil said the anime full of fillers.. but thats only to make you understand the setting and the story/or nature of the show.

In my opinion both, since both are entertaining with good art and the anime we are given some pretty nice music. BUT, if you can't do that due to unfortunate circumstances, then you should just read the manga. It has better art, continues after the anime ends, and... that's it really, just because it continues on after the anime end is probably the only reason why someone would want to read the manga than just watch the anime.

If you're only going to watch/read one of them, definitely go for the manga. After you finish you might decide to watch some parts of the anime (that's what I did), but it's up to you.

Read the manga...wait for the hiatus to be over.
Then watch the anime ...and still wait for the hiatus to be over.

Can some one specifically tell me what arcs in the anime are actually fillers. Along time ago i actually watched this series but was not aware that i was watching filler. So i am just curiou show much of it is actual canon story. I would imagine Season 3 and 4 were canon cause they were pretty important but season 1 did seem fillerish.

Okay, here are the filler episodes: 29-37 and 41-50. Of course, you get the filler parts in canon episodes but those are kinda impossible to avoid :/
Anyway, I hope this helps! ^-^

With the anime you'll get into a filler hell at some point. Also, the animation is really lazy imo and the fights seriously lack in dynamism, even compared with the manga (well, in the manga the fights usually get a bit messy to read at times, but they're entertaining as hell).

Just read the manga, and join us all at the bottom of the infinite HIATUS abyss.

I feel like there's some in the teens and twenties as well, like the Suman ep and a couple of Kanda side stories. And a Daisha backstory but that's in the 40's. But those really aren't that bad, especially considering the reasoning behind the Daisha and Suman ones in particular.

Anyway, if you love the manga than you're likely to love the anime, it really does capture the atmosphere and characters extremely well.
