Were people having it in their house in book slefs is normal. Anime (late night anime) is anything but popular among the general population, and that is exactly the type of anime that is popular in this site, and among anime fans. The only anime that are popular like manga, are the mainstream prime time anime, like Suzane-chan, Detective Conan, Dokuro-chan, etc. |

| BTW, I suppose the presence of the first volume of Moribito Series in the top LN sales is due to the announcement of a drama adaptation of this series one week before. That's quite an impressive effect on sales considering that drama won't air before 2016.If it gets 5k sales in one week just for that, I wonder how much it will sale when the drama will effectively air. |

One key reason why manga is a more popular medium than anime, is because nearly every single anime (roughly 90%) currently airing is aired during the midnight timeslot (so any theory about Akame ga Kill not selling because of its time slot does not make sense, when some of the other anime which airs around the same time have charted within the Top 50 manga). Most anime is therefore aimed at the older male and female audience, because you'd not find many teenagers up during the midnight timeslots (roughly 10pm~4am) just to watch the majority of anime currently airing. Manga is aimed at pretty much all ages (as evident with the demographics of shoujo, shounen, seinen and josei, which only applies to manga). |
