Western markets are important too.

Nope. That is completely wrong.

Dragonball Kai and Space Dandy would disagree with you.

I'm in firm belief that if the anime industry take the west more into consideration and work with companies like Funimation, we would be seeing more Bacanno!, Space Dandy and Big-O.

2 anime out of the hundreds released per year, that only proves my point.

2 special cases only prove how insignificant the western 'market' is to the anime industry. I don't think you can even count Dragonball Kai in the first place, since the franchise is popular in Japan, they had no reason not to do it.

And hopefully the never do that.

Assuming you're right about Japan giving that much of a shit about what North America thinks, just ask yourself this. Does Baccano! even have the mainstream appeal of those Toonami aired titles to begin with? Did it air along sides Cowboy Bebop or the Big O and garner a huge fan base that'd warrant a revisiting?

No? Well there you go. Wrong even on your own terms.

From what I saw, it wrapped things up nicely, so I hope not.

It ended pretty well so there's no reason to ruin it.

Actually, the Buu Saga of Dragonball Kai came back because of international popularity and request.

All I'm saying is that the anime industry would be a lot better and varied if they attempt to shift some of their focus on the western market.

It has a pretty big cult following and I think it has the appeal that would sit itself alongside Toonami other shows. I never said that Bacanno appeared on Toonami, I said that it has the appeal to the western audience that it would find some success on a channel like that.

People should stop assuming. It's a nasty habit that the internet has.

Maybe it would've appealed to the Toonami Crowd, but it didn't because it just never as given the chance to. Not that it would matter much, Deadman Wonderland is pretty darn popular in the U.S hell it was even the top-rated show at one point. The show bombed pretty badly in Japan, but if Western influence is really that important why hasn't it gained a sequel?

I think in early 2000s there where some americans on the production comities but that has changed now. Space dandy is for a western audience but most of the profit will still be from Japan. It's more like them letting Watanabe doing what he wants.

Anime is good, fucking deal with it.

I wish it would, in my opinion the light novels kept improving and built on each other nicely, but the chances of it getting a sequel are astronomically low.

Yes, that why Durararara was popular, because it added those things.

I loved Baccano and is one of the anime I've seen. But I don't think a second season is necessary.

I know the VN´s go further than the anime, but for me it has a good ending as it is.Durarara is from the same producer and it´s second season is airing right now,so you might check it out,it´s just almost as great as Baccano.

Also baccano in the LN was a linear story (didn't jump around the place). It wouldn't be the same and the story seemed pretty finished at the end. I would be happy with the LNs if I really wanted to know what happens.

With the light novels finally being localized in English, is there renewed hope of a 2nd season, if they sell well enough to demonstrate a market.

Japan doesn't care about U.S. sales at all, don't get your hopes up. Now the new Manga over in Japan might give it that push though.

I hope it gets a second season but it all depends on what the producers decide to do. If there is enough fan response then they might just make a second season. So its up to us to make that happen Viva Baccano!

Yes, and pigs might fly!

[Actually Guys this anime deviates from Novel in a good way.But since DRRR!!!! had a comeback and hence Shuka might plan for this as well and 91 days anime came to aware us that they are ready for to make Baccano! anime {however it will come as remake hence it will be doubt if that will be as good as this one...**sigh**}]

There's enough to be adapted, but it's sales in Japan weren't good.

So it's unlikely, though I would love it.

Well, with studio Shuka working on stuff that Omori worked at Brain's Base in the past, there's a pretty good possibility that we could get one.

A second season would be pretty difficult to make, since they mixed characters into one that were originally completely separate individuals, as well as changing a few other things that actually mattered in later novels. Hopefully they won't even try.
However, a REMAKE would be an absolutely brilliant idea and would allow them to fix the mistakes they made in the anime, and potentially produce something that can get close to the quality of the source material. (Because, even though the anime was pretty good, the light novels are on a whole other level.)

We (and most of the cast) never get to see his face both in the anime and the light novel - so he's just some mysterious guy behind the large pile of files on his desk. Unlike the Rail Tracer, he's not one of the (other) main characters.

And I can agree with you that watching it for the first time (without reading the novel) might be a tad confusing
