I hope they make an actual series based off the manga not web cartoon.

Also, I'm actually fond of Matsuoka Yoshitsugu voicing Miyamura now. He fits him completely.

The material are enough for 1 season. i hope they drop the ova and announce the TV-series ( ofc Horimiya not Hori-san and Miyamura-kun )

Any of you have actual manga sales number?

On a different topic, Yoshimura Ai would be good choice for director.

Boy if it's by J.C. Staff I would be over the moon. They made almost all of my favorite Slice of Life School Romance animes. Sakurasou, Toradora, Kaichou wa Maid-sama etc.

Hopefully this gets green-lit for an anime adaptation... The audience isn't that small too ranked #26 in popularity.

The day this gets an anime, my life is complete... Please anime gods

Horimiya is my favourite manga and I reread the entire series every so often. The story is heartwarming and very nice but the only thing close to an anime it ever got was three video animations that were all short. My question is, is it possible for horimiya to get an anime and if so, will it happen anytime soon? ( Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wasnt sure where exactly it should be.)

would great if they diverge from original source and keeping ligh hearted toones and keep those edgy drama to minimum... but people hate it, so i will pass...

The 3 OVAs are based off the web comic and its art style. Things also happen in it more as how it happens in the web comic. Various changes how thing occurs but reach the same conclusion are made when it was put in manga form.

Don't be so doubtful. Just for an example, Akagami no Shirayukihime started serialisation back in 2006, and didn't get an anime adaptation until 2015. So it took exactly 9 years for it to be noticed by an anime studio.
I'll be optimistic. Horimiya will get an anime adaptation at some point, but I can't see it happening in the next year. Perhaps by Fall 2017/Winter 2018?

Well i guess since Yen Press started publishing the manga in English there may be a chance a studio was adapt it some years down the road. But the manga would probably have to still be ongoing as well.

Rare for an anime to adapt a completed manga series. Yen Press keeps buying the rights to release English versions for so many manga and LN series it's depressing :/

Rip so many LN fan translations over copyright claims.

I know right. Its annoying enough with all of the ln translations getting taken down but at least they could be caught up with the translations. For most if not all, the fan translations were far ahead of yen press (for the ones im reading or was reading).

Yen is actually doing a horrible job with their translations of Horimiya. They take way to many liberties with it.

Well the OVAs and their artwork are based off the webcomic not the manga. That is why things happen different though reach generally the same conclusion than in the manga.

I truly hope they make an anime out of this seeing the manga sales says it enough thats its popular enough. So yeh Horimiya and Last Game aswell are the 2 manga that iam waiting for that got good romance+comedy and deserve an anime.

Really, really hope so!
I tried to watch the OVA, but I lost interests in the first 5 min or so. I think/hope that they will do a 12 ep anime once the manga ends. There's enough to cover and give the anime a good ending if they wait for Hori and Miyamura to "officially" get married.

Just finished volume 1, absolutely should be made into a tv series. It seems like this would translate very well and easily.

As long as the animation quality is up to par, there's no reason why this shouldn't be successful. I really enjoyed those ovas, but they were such a tease.
