The Harbaugh coaching staff is complete. :D :D :D

OC: Tim Drevno (Harbaugh's OL coach at Stanford and with 49ers)
DC: DJ Durkin (Florida's DC under Muschamp)

QB: Jedd Fisch (previous Jax Jaguars OC)
RB: Tyrone Wheatley (Buf Bills RB coach under Marrone, legendary Mich RB)
WR: Jedd Fisch
TE: Jay Harbaugh (Jim's son. :P) (Nepotism ftw)
OL: Tim Drevno

DL: Greg Mattison (Hoke's DC)
LB: DJ Durkin
DB: Greg Jackson (SF DB coach)
DB: Mike Zordich (Phi Eagles safeties coach from 11-12, Youngstown St DB coach from 13-14)

So much NFL experience..
And I'm surprised (but happy) that Mattison decided to hang around as a position coach. But my favorite coach on the staff might be Drevno. Harbaugh's Stanford and SF OLines were always great.. Hoping to see a nasty OL at Michigan from now on.
if they cant produce within the next couple of seasons the school is doomed to fail forever.

Honestly.. And I'm really not trying to sound arrogant, but that's just too good of a staff to fail lol.. I mean, besides Jim Harbaugh, we have Tim Drevno who has had dominant OLines wherever he's been, we have a freaking NFL OC as a WR coach, the RB coach is probably the best RB in Michigan history and is a legend in the Detroit area. He's going to be a lights-out recruiter.

On defense we have a DC who was pretty damn successful at Florida, a DL coach who was also really successful as a DC, and 2 DB coaches who played in the NFL for over a decade, and have also both coached in the NFL.

It really is a loaded staff from top to bottom, I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out. The only question is Jay Harbaugh, since he doesn't have any experience. But hitting home run hires on 8/9 assistant coaches is all you can realistically ask for.

I almost attended USC, and I like some of their players, plus Carroll coached there. Still a Huskies fan, just know a lot about USC, that's all.

They're not catching Ohio State this year, but Michigan will finish high for sure with that staff.

Hope that game is between two undefeateds, would bring the rivalry's glory back.

Yeah, we're not catching OSU next year. I don't think we'll catch Michigan St next year either. But it'll be game on by year 2.

Catching MSU shouldn't be hard. They're losing Langford, Lippett, and Mumphery. They were the best players on offense.

previous Jax Jaguars OC

Jags had an OC? XD

(Florida's DC under Muschamp)

His D gave up 429 yards at home to

Last year, the Jaguars started 8 rookies on offense. I really don't think there's very many coaches walking the planet who could've had success with that kind of inexperience.. I'm not saying Jedd Fisch doesn't deserve any blame for the Jaguars' offense last year, but that's pretty much an impossible situation.

Ok? That's just one game. For the two years Durkin was DC for Florida, these were his stats:

2013 - 21.1 PPG allowed (ranked 17th), 314.3 YPG allowed (ranked 10th)
2014 - 21.2 PPG allowed (ranked 23rd), 311.0 YPG allowed (ranked 9th)

That's pretty good. Especially when you consider Florida's offense was completely inept. That defense was put on a lot of short fields, and they were on the field pretty much the whole game since UF's offense mightily struggled to move the ball.

That's not just one game:

2013:

414 against Georgia

500 agsinst Mizzou

546 against FSU

429 against an FCS team.

2014:

450 against Kentucky

672 against Bama.

460 against Georgia.

536 against ECU

----

It kind of reminds me of how people hyped up Mattison(not saying you're hyping Durkin) when he went there.

Vic Fangio coached horrible defenses before he was the 49ers coach.

Look at him now.

I'll just post the season stats again lol...

2013 - 21.1 PPG allowed (ranked 17th), 314.3 YPG allowed (ranked 10th)
2014 - 21.2 PPG allowed (ranked 23rd), 311.0 YPG allowed (ranked 9th)

Florida's defense ranked very well under Durkin. I don't know how you can sit there and say DJ Durkin isn't a pretty good DC when in both of his years Florida's defense was top 10 in YPG allowed.

And was Mattison not a pretty good DC under Hoke..? I don't know what you're saying there.

And against offenses with a pulse?

Same thing with Mattison. When his defenses went up against good offenses, they couldn't stop them.

I bet you Florida's defenses after Dan Quinn left simply didn't have the talent there.

lol keep cherry picking games all you want.
And besides, you're still not accounting for the fact that Florida's offense was pretty much dead weight. It's almost inevitable that you're going to get scored on when the offense keeps going three and out, putting your D back on the field without any rest.

Mattison wasn't perfect (he struggled with up-tempo offenses) but to say that, overall, he didn't do a very good job is somewhat laughable..

Good? Sure. Very good is a stretch.

Good day. Kept Gibson, and Weber(M*chigan.lol). Also added KJ Hill, and flipped Isaiah Prince from Bama.

So, basically, he didn't choose Michigan because we got another RB in the class. Can we apply the "scared of competition" label to Weber?

I think we might be able to. :D

Yet he's committed to the team with the best back in CFB. :o

Not to mention what Ohio State has coming in the '16 class.

Weber will probably redshirt next year, then EzE leaves for the draft, then Weber is basically first on the depth chart. So that argument doesn't really apply IMO.

He literally straight up said Michigan signing another RB was the deal breaker for him.

What else could that mean other than he wants to be the only RB in his class?

Weber is talented as hell and he's comparable to Mark Ingram as a prospect. That's high praise from me considering I'm a Saints fan.

But I mean, seriously, if he wants a situation with as less competition as possible, then I am honestly not upset at all that he didn't end up here. Maybe he's actually not scared of comp, I can't actually say for sure. But based on his comments, I think that's one of the conclusions you can draw.

Unless they're injured, Urban doesn't usually redshirt RBs. Elliott, and Curtis Samuel played their freshman year..

The only way that happens is if Curtis Samuel gets injured or moves to H-back.

Kareem Walker- #1 ranked RB in the country.

Demario McCall- #3 ranked RB in the country.

George Hill- #4 ranked RB in the country.

------

Getting Gibson will be huge going forward when it comes to Florida recruiting.

Lockdown Ohio, and invade Florida. I like that approach.

Weber can't control what happens in other recruiting classes.. But judging by his actions, he absolutely wanted to be the only 2015 RB to whichever school he committed to.

This is a kid who was favoring Michigan St at first, but then cooled on them when they got a commit from RB Larry Scott. And then he didn't have Michigan interest until Damien Harris decommitted. He would've flipped back to Mich if we didn't sign Karan Higdon.

Unless he's PO'd enough to sit out a year..
Edit: You can't really rule out a release either, given enough bad PR OSU would probably do it.
