Quite superb, well suited for critical thinkers and those who like to analyze and look deeper than what is only on the surface; while also having a stylish flair. In the dark days of ero, school girl bullshit and more shounen battle shows than one can handle, it's always good to have a burning light like this out there. |

| Very weird show, with that said i really like the theme and the approach they do, Doctor main character = insta like. The art style is creative and nice but it has some problems by being messy. From the premise i can say it has similarities with Mononoke, but easier to relate to, however Mononoke has the superior art aspect. |

| Well, this is definitely weird, but I really like it for now. (It gave me some Monogatari vibes at times...) If I understood correctly, this show is about mental illness, I think making the show very surreal is consequently a good idea. I also like the fact that while it actually has a serious undertone, the show itself is completely wacky instead of depressing, it reminds me of FLCL on that level while at the same time being completely different. At first I thought the mix of animation and real-life people would bother me but it's actually well-done, for now I'm very fond of the vibes this show is giving. I don't know why exactly though, but it has a charm. I wonder why this doctor seems to have 3 different versions of himself though. A strange, silly and childish version wearing a mouse face and having an injection fetishism, a kid version who seems to be very jaded, and a young man version, who seems to be quite eccentric too... And the most surprising is that the patient didn't seem to question that. There's probably an explanation but for now, I really don't have it. (However one thing I can say for sure is that I love the ed. I still have it playing in my mind and somehow, it's putting me in a good mood.) |

| Incredible, this is like everything I like in one pack. Kenji Nakamura does not disappoint. I *adore* live-action inserts in anime, be it in the OP/ED (Kuuchuu Buranko has both!) or in the episode itself. The variety of techniques (rotoscoping, live-action, cardboard cut-outs xD) were very pleasing to see, and many gag situations were legitimately funny. The best thing for me was the diverse voice acting of the patient's colleague performers, especially that Russian guy xD I burst out laughing. Though I really wonder who played him, as well as other guys' who didn't speak Japanese. I can't find credits anywhere. Though I surely felt *uncomfortable* during the injection scenes. Gross! As for Dr. Irabu's forms, I'll stick to the Freudian interpretation so far. Also what's up with the Toei merchandise and logos everywhere hahaha Before disappearing, Mayumi was reading "Tomorrow" by Junichi Toriyama. I wonder if it's significant. As far as the symbolism goes, the birds (in cages or not) are also probably meaningful. Also that broken flower after the successful injection... and the pationt's head changing into a bird... I'll be paying attention to the calendar (?). It changed from 16 to 24 in this episode, but got reset during the next episode preview. |

| I'm always going to be attracted to the weird and different shows, and this definitely qualifies for that. Love the visual mish-mash of ideas, the incorporation of live-action for close-ups and cardboard cut-outs look for the extras, it's a very distinctive look that had me entertained on it's own. And the injection scene was fun too. I will say, the actual narrative of the episode on it's own wasn't very good on it's own. It didn't really need to be since it has it's unusual style on the forefront to make an impression, but I do think if the series stories don't improve much I probably won't end up liking this much. 11 episodes isn't a lot but it's enough that the style likely won't be able to carry the show by itself. |
| I saw this by accident on someone's favorites, caught my eye, let's go! Hm this is... something. I guess it'll come down to how much is plot and how much is a PSA. OP is pretty good though. That injection scene. Uh, yeah, otherwise, I don't know? Out of the gate I'd say it reminds me a bit of The Science of Sleep which I liked. I don't necessarily dislike this show, it's just pretty jarring compared to all the other anime I've seen. Though, there isn't a whole lot to it, mostly just visuals and transitions. |

| It's nice taking time to re-watch this again. This is one I've wanted to re-watch for some time, so might as well do it this year lol. I remember the doc (Ibaru) being kooky. I also remember liking the animation style and the use of live action. Like, it's very trippy, and surreal which creates a very unique visual experience. I'm also loving the background music, OP and ED. I admittedly forgot about Fukuicchi from Fuji TV and his commentary in this series, womp, lol. But who says anime can't be educational? My Washu though, Mayumi/Yumi Sugimoto is fine as hell!~ <3 Golly, that's a thick shot. Makes you wonder what's in it that's supposed to help Kohei sleep. This use of live action with her whilst the world is still 2-D reminded me of Agent Xtra (who's also really hot) from Gex 3 |
