Grampa Toad is cool but I'm a sucker for chameleons! Did you guys hear Jiraiya wondering where Pain got the chameleon? It reminded me of a filler from Naruto. You know the one where they go into a haunted house but the house turns out to be in the belly of a chameleon?! Good times, cute chameleon; I used to have a Cameroon Bearded Chameleon named Amazu Ghedi but that is neither here nor there.

Damn! I was going somewhere with that filler episode and Pain's secret, but I don't remember how to use a spoiler button so I'll just keep quiet out of respect for those who don't know anything about Pain yet.

Okay I looked up the spoiler thing, DON'T CLICK ON THE BUTTON IF YOU DON'T READ THE MANGA! Its of arbitrary importance anyways

great animation on the fight. i would have liked more, but I guess they want to spread it out among multiple episodes.

great episode but kind of slow, now the real fight begins...

That was a pleasant episode even if it looked to take too much time for him to do that technic.

Unfortunately the artwork continues to be bad in certain areas. That smoke really looked terrible.
The next episode should be the best part of this fight.

No, as seen in the preview. The very ugly smoke and effects during jiraiya's huge rasengan, means its gonna be another crap animated episode. And that's the episode the real fight starts.

They are so cheap that they do 1 ep of good animation. While japanese animators are prob cheaper then american

A decent episode, Some great action also where included in the episode.

I'm so glad the anime is getting better again and I hope they'll keep up with the quality.

I actually gave this ep 2/5, I thought it was retarded, Jiraiya running for his Sage mode to activate ... and a clumsy frog above all of it for one of the Legendary Sannin??!

even if it was original, I would say that it completely sucked and was stupid >_>.

Now, next ep is gonna be something .. I mean the real fight would begin in it, not like this one ...

The last mins were great after the activation of the Sage mode, I would have criticised the recalls of the Great Toad, but I think it was necessary ^ ^

I think Shippuuden has finally stated to pick up again after 18 months of filler and slow paced crap episodes. This fight is one of my favourite fights in manga ever and they've animated it well so far.

there is hardly possible for that theory to be correct, since the manga hadn't come this far when that filler episode was made. In other words, the anime productors couldn't possibly know that there were gonna be a chameleon later on in the series! on the other hand, there COULD be a chance that Kishimoto got the idea about the chameleon from seeing that episode himself:p thats the only possible way that there is a link between that filler and this episode.

too bad its different animation style next time, they should make eps with animation like in this ep more oftenly =T
