| Tokyo ghoul is a story of a regular kid turned monster who must eat humans to survive, and has a similar feel to attack. There's evangelion, where 3 14 year old kids must pilot giant robots to fight of giant monsters, and the characters all have mental issues along with a sense of hopelessness throughout. Then there's steins gate that starts as a time travel slice of life, but turns to a story of a man repeating the same mistakes and slowly going insane. All of these have a sense of hopelessness, at least at some parts. |
