I'm a tad late BUT @Nocturnal I really liked Samurai Shamploo. Episodic, but the main characters were great. Only issue I have with it was the ending.

Tokko
Liked it. Story wasn't the greatest I've ever seen, but liked the horror undertones

What about Fullmetal Alchemist? (the first anime)

Am I the only one who thinks it is a bit overrated? I mean, I liked it, but it was nowhere near great.

Well as long as I haven't seen THAT much of anime... I will tell my oppinion about all I have seen and were mentioned here. So let's see Love Hina oh this anime was actualy my first anime maybe it was too much nudity for me at that time but still not bad some episodes were realy nice xDD hmm.. I might actualy not remmember all you mentioned hm.. OH fate stay night it was nice realy I like the saber and the guy and all anime as for Sakura she was a nice girl but I thought maybe she was too taciturn for me and also here is FMA well maybe it is TOO overrated but it was my second anime so it left me an impression and I have a pocket watch with FMA atributes it is quite nice ;DDDD I got it for Christmas from my bf and I remmembered now Death note hmm.. I liked the story but NOT THAT MUCH realy it was nice but I prefer different anime from this one ;D maybe some more oppinion about Ghost in the shell as long as I have nevere seen that it was mentioned somewhere in the forum ;D

YES! LOL JK. I liked it a lot. The sequel is way better though, and has less comedy.

Anyone seen A Tree of Palme?
The story can be somewhat confusing at times. But the style is beautiful.

You're not the only one. I agree. I never cared much for Ed which kept me from loving the anime but I admit that it is very well conceived but to me it lacks something to make it really grand.

I liked the action in FMA ^^ never cared much for any of the characters cept Maes.

The one seems to go a bit deeper somehow. And poses so many new questions :P I wonder if they'll be able to answer em all :P

I liked the adventure in it, some anime feels like they jump from each location but in FMA it felt like their were connection to each location so everything felt like a whole or how to say.

It was long time ago I saw it so I don't remember exactly but I think it felt that way however.

I would skip it if you're not into yaoi. And this is coming from someone who gobbles up virtually all things BL related but Junjou Romantica caters to the clichés of the genre in a gratituitous fashion. Out of the three couples only one is at all believable. The humour is average at best, it got me to chuckle every now and then but it's not at all great.

If you want something in the same vein but that actually is absolutely hilarious I'd say try the manga "The Tyrant Falls in Love". If you watch Junjou, do it for Nowaki and Hiroki because everyone else is horrendous.

Negatively. I think that yaoi in this look is suited only for fanatic yaoi-geek-fangirls. There are two (or three, I can't remember now) shounen-ai titles that do not set yaoi as the main aspect of the scenario, so that ones I want to watch. But thematic trash like your gravitation and junjou romantica - no, never. Also with gigantic popularity of yaoi in Russia amongst stupid fangirls the answer is quite foretellable.
Hehehe... so, what would you say, for example, about Hokuto no Ken? I watched yesterday a couple of episodes, seems to be quite interesting postapocalyptic action...

The best yaoi out there exists in manga for and not in anime. That's the greatest problem with it getting exposure to a vaster audience. Usually the manas that do get animated are either average and/or only partialy done in anime format. Not to mention the production values tend to be very poor.

That's true about animation, due to censoring and such many good mangas are not converted to animation or if they get screened somehow they end up being lame :D

I have actually not seen the whole Clannad yet but I have seen similar anime such as Air and Kanon but I think it just same as Air there is a girl who have some sad curse on her self I guess. I really liked Air so I think Clannad is better or great as Air was. But for moment I just don't feel to watch anime such as Clannad.

Clannad was OK in my opinion but AfterStory was amazing, the most emotional anime I've seen ^_^ very nice art, very good music/sound.. too bad about the ending but I suppose they had to tie it together somehow

I thought that Clannad was above average but terribly overhyped and way too overrated. Then again I tend to think that about virtually all things done by KyoAni with very few exceptions. Also I have a huge pet peeve with the studio: Those. Eyes. Are. Too. Bloody. Big.

It does not help when it goes into emotional scenes and said eyes double their size due to the tears. At one point it actually becomes distracting and for me it undercuts much of the appeal that Clannad and co. might have otherwise had.

I have only seen 3 episodes of Tenchi Muyo! TV so I don't really know. I am not sure if it is a harem anime but if it is I don't think I will like it now.

It's kind of getting annoying when the main characters can't choose the girl they love...

I did like harem anime for a long time ago however but after watching many anime I begun do dislike it. So I think I would had like that anime if I watched it when I still liked the genre.

However I still think the other part of that anime is good.

Recently I've been getting into Shaft's works and I have to say they are awesome.

I've started watching SZS a few days ago (though I don't really have much time for that) and it's great so far. Random humor, nonsense, lack of a proper storyline, bald man's face used for censorship... I love strange and original animes like that.
