I'm underweight thanks to depression and a lack of interest in food.
Sometimes I'm a bit scared when I see myself in the mirror. You can totally see the ribs and hip bone.

I am always worried about my weight. I'm 5' 8", and before I started jogging last year, I used to weigh a whopping 175lbs. But since I started jogging 7 days a week, I'm now down to 135lbs, and I'm still looking to lose another 15 to 20lbs.

I look and feel much better now that I have lost weight, and I have more energy now than I did when I was 10 years old!

I'm a bit paranoid about it, but since I have a radical metabolism I'm confident that I don't have much to worry about. But that's not reassuring enough for me so I still go out of my way to avoid gaining weight, just in case. I hope to remain at 130 pounds.

I've always been sort of self-conscious about it since I was overweight like 9 years ago. Now I kind of want to gain weight so my arms don't look like sticks and my stomach doesn't look like a blob. I don't go by numbers though, I just go by the looks.

I starved myself for 4 days once but that wasn't for weight it was in protest of something. Wasn't fun the pain you feel in your stomach sucks and keeps you awake.

Sometimes. I have this rather gross disorder called Rumination syndrome, and last year, due to feeling anxious because of my workload and academic endeavours, it became somewhat reminiscent of a bulimia cycle. That is, I would eat normally and throw up. I felt happy about losing weight but I couldn't stop the cycle that easily and so my BMI stats showed that I was in the unhealthy range. I have taken up regular weight-lifting since then and my mass increased all the while allowing me to retain a slim frame.

Does being self-conscious about your weight means you're overweight ? Because I give a lot of attention to mine and how I look, but I'm kinda fit. I am just scared to gain the few kilos who could give me fat belt.

I haven't weighed myself since 2013 probably. Don't have a scale in my house and haven't been to the gym this year.

I'm usually not self concious about it unless I'm wearing clothing that's too tight for me. I'm overweight but don't look too bad if I'm wearing clothing that isn't tight on me.

Haha, pretty much this.
Although, having a high metabolism is sort of a double edged sword. The good of it is that you can pretty much eat anything, and eat a lot without paying the consequences. If you're as skinny as a rail like I am though, it's kind of frustrating when you actually want to gain some weight and muscle because your metabolism kind of prevents that.

Yes, way too much.
I used to starve myself for a while, but after getting "healed" from that, it turned the whole thing around.
I ate so much all the time that I even became a little overweight.
I was totally unhappy.
Now I'm at a healthy weight again, but I still worry about what and how much I eat everyday.

You're currently at around 20.5 BMI which is already at the lower end of the normal range, especially for guys. What you're aiming for is underweight (~18.3 - ~ 17.5). For what reasons?
I've got about exactly the same BMI ( with 1.85m and 70kg) and I'm still feeling a little bit on the thin side. So it strikes me as odd when someone wants to be even thinner as that.

@ topic: I'm self-conscious in the philosophical meaning that I'm aware of what my current weight is like. It doesn't change much (from around 67-70kg in the last years), so I'm only looking once in a month or a few months when I'm going to the basement and happen to be aware of the weighing scale or when threads such as this one are made.

Loosing fat percentage and gaining muscles rather lead to an increase of weight.
Just do some training for the abs and you'll be fine.

I am for sure. Used to be a distance runner and got into weightlifting this year. Put on 15 pounds in the first 4 months of the year but hit a plateau since then. Started running again a couple weeks back because I noticed I was getting a bit of a gut. Kind of annoying that I'm so worried about my body but it's nice to see improvements and have something to work for.

I tried fasting for three days as an experiment. My stomach pain went away after the first day, though. I started eating again because, even though I was only drinking water, I still had to use the bathroom. Let's just say that I had some "leakage" issues.

Now, I only eat once a day. My restaurant bill has dropped to zero. It's saving me a lot of money.

Yeah. It's kind of stupid, but I think about it nearly all the time.

I've joined a gym and exercise at home and try to eat healthily most of the time. If I don't, I feel guilty for a long time.

Yeah, but there's still too much fat on my stomach, and no matter how much training for my abs I do, I can't see my abs because they're still hidden by the stomach fat.

yup... you can do all of the ab exercise you want but if you still have massive fat layers over them you'll never see them. Have to do some consistent cardio exercise to lose those fat layers. You do cardio and weight training as well you lose weight even faster ..

I've always walked the fine line between : normal & underweight (during most stressful periods, in which happens sometime I don't eat for days). Also my eating habits suck, so 'self-conscious' about the fact that I need more discipline, but I'm lazy...

Used to weight about 185 lbs when I was in Alberta, now than I'm back in Québec I pay more attention to what I eat and I dropped to 160ish lbs.
