Can I skip the Key of the Starry Sky Arc?

I know this is a oldish arc but I just recently started watching Fairy Tail and I'm wondering if I can just skip this arc and go to the magical games one?
I'm on episode 132 right now and I've really never gotten this bored in a fairy tail arc before, even that dragon lady arc wasn't as bad as this. Everyone's losing to the stupidest villains, none of their actions make any sense, and all the character development that this show has had so far has just gone to shit. And I get that they were frozen for 7 years and haven't been able to train but it really doesn't excuse their characterization.

It is filler but apparently the mangaka confirms that it was canon later on in the story.

Do you know which episodes have like canon or manga material in them so I can just watch those, or is the whole arc necessary?

Nah, all he did was mention the shit that happened in that arc a few eps into the canon arc.
