Getting invested in a story also usually means getting emotional about it in different ways for me. Laugh, cry, get angry with characters (or bad endings), or sometimes sad when an anime ends.

Allright, BUMP

Even though I loved anime.

Well, it's because everyone has a different feelings towards it. Sometimes like I said, they just like to sit there & take it as a laughing matter.

Others like me, taking it too personally till I've been traumatized over what happened to the characters especially

And it get's stuck-in-my-head real fast. I've been posting so many thoughts & overreactions but they just

'We hear you & we don't care anymore'.

God, I don't like how are they posting a hyperbole related to me which it's clearly not true. I have my own reason why I'm doing it so. Maybe I have a lack of confidence plus a common sense when it comes to discussion over things that happened in life.

Please... respect my feelings, guys. Unless if those shows were slapstick comedy like Nisekoi, Barakamon, Gin No saji & etc, I really laugh my asses off.

If the series is well written and caused me to relate to a characters' feelings than there is a good chance I could react emotionally with tears. This holds true for any medium of entertainment, though films with actors rarely get me to respond emotionally as compared to an artistic expression of feelings and inner-thought.

I don't know how to explain this but, it's just that I'm an emotional person sometimes.

but when it come to anime I got pretty sensitive like Guilty Crown, Valvrave, Attack On titan, Psycho-Pass & Suisei No Gargantia, Sword Art online (I don't care NO matter how good/bad these show was as what people said), It really triggers me an emotional response a lot & 'explodes' in my head/heart because that shit was totally bananas (batshit insane).

I cried no, get angry while watching anime... when people died, MC got raped by psychotic villains who mostly jerk & going killing spree where people love to hate till it become a personal matter. Others thought it was a laughing matter & take it as an excuses.

How about you guys?

It doesn't show much on the outside, but I do get rather emotional and much of what I watch and read affects me on a personal level to some extent; more so, I suspect, than is normal.

Witnessing events take place such as the ones you described are pretty "painful" to me; sometimes it makes things difficult to sit through.

So I enjoy light-hearted, happy stories the best.

I take it as a sign that I am capable of that kind of empathy and I'm rather glad for it. I think you should be too.

I do every now and then. But then... there's Anohana. Lord, I cried like a baby at the end of that. Full on ugly cry. If someone saw me, they would've thought someone just died.

Haha. Hearing that, I look forward to watching it even less. (And I've been putting it off for the longest time now)

I doubt I'll ever be in the mood for emotional anguish. x)

Sometimes, if it hits me at the right spot. Got emotional (not crying, but just feeling...blue) watching NANA, Madoka, and Perfect Blue. When I was younger I cried while watching the Elfen Lied OVA.

I often get emotional and be like "Heeeeell no!" if something bad happens to one of my favourite characters. I also get in a better mood if I watch something very funny like Fairy Tail or High School DxD :)

Emotional, yes. But not to the point of crying.

Well, there are times when I watch bad anime I was so angrily emotional I can kill an ant, but I think that's a different story.
HOW TO SAVE ANIME IN THREE SIMPLE STEPS

  1. To have Mars of Destruction, Skelter Heaven, and Pupa properly adapted in TV series form by Madhouse
  2. To have Inferno Cop properly adapted in TV series form by Bones, director: Urobuchi Gen
  3. An anime crossover of Mushishi x ARIA x Haibane Renmei.

Should even one of the above conditions cannot be done, anime is still at risk.

Really it depends on the mood I'm in. Some times I'll watch a character die and be a shriveled up little ball of tears and emotions. Other times I'll be like "Oh come on already! You don't need to die /that/ dramatically! god damn." Usually I get pretty emotional over anime though. I get easily attached to characters and shows.

I can't really say that certain scenes or backgrounds will always get me emotional, so there's no "do this for instafeels", but of course there have been a number of shows that made me go totally emotional. Usually, they're the ones I like the most.

I cry easily. Little bitter-sweet moments make my shed tears. Drama could get tears flowing. I also tend to get angry at characters who make stupid decisions.

The odd emotion I have is that I always laugh at horror and gore... there's something wrong with my emotional response to gore.
I'm not a lolicon, you're just projecting your tendency to lewd 2D characters.

If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.

Well, not really. Angel Beats! is supposed to be a 'sad' anime and many cried and added drama to it too but i did not even see that as sad. Hats off to AnoHana though, it could get me to shed to tears at the end.

I cried when watching Madoka's ending... That's the first time I cried when watching an anime.
Mirai Nikki's ending and Mawaru Penguindrum also made me feel sad, but i don't cried (except during Penguindrum episode 12)

That is NOT what you think.

Again,

it's not like I'm too obsessed with these shows. Is just that I'm emotionally attached to characters and stories when it comes to action turns tragic style anime as well.

Aldnoah.zero & last year's valvrave, really caught my attention until I started to get me goosebumps, anxious & traumatized every day until that show was ended in dramatic cliffhanger which it leaves me fully engrossed and anticipating the next twist.

Hell, I feel like I'm gonna scream in anger despite how batshit insane was & I couldn't sleep every night!

I regularly have to cry or at least shed a tear or two. But not without any standards whatsoever, if something is written badly, stupidly, ridiculously, hilariously, terribly etc... I can't get any emotional attachment. Or when a show kills everyone before we can get attached to them and then lazily tries to flesh them out in their dying moments with flashbacks or something. Agk and Terraformars come to mind. Zero emotions for both. But for shows with Bokurano or Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 I even have to cry when I only watch the recap years after I finished the series.
I probably regret this post by now.

I don't really cry as in bawling my eyes out, but I have caught several times when a show, or even a particular scene in a show managed to make my eyes water at the very least.

Yes, a lot of the time I do. It does depend on the show for me though. Many times I find myself watching a show that should be emotionally, but I feel nothing about it. Other times the show should not be emotional, but for some reason I make it emotional.

It's confusing.
