| Playing Grim Dawn. It's a very nice ARPG that is just being released. Like a cross over between titan quest and diablo 2,3 and a few other games. Basically it's taking the good ideas of each game, discarding bad stuff from them, and adding a few original ideas in the gameplay. The result is very convincing ImO. I really like it. Plus 18€ on steam is very nice. To think that game was developed by EIGHT persons, lol. the result is incredible. I have more than one hudnred hours on it (since I bought it as an early release a few weeks ago) and I'm enjoying it so much. |

First off, take this with a grain of salt as I've only just picked this one up, it's just the first impression I got within like 10ish hours played time. The battle system feels vastly different from most other Tales games, aside from maybe Graces. Stringing together artes is more or less automated and done for you now with little to no customization. There's a sort of rock-paper-scissors mechanic for attacking, as in there are 3 types of attacks and each one has an advantage and disadvantage over the next type (for both you and the enemy.) Pair that with the elemental weaknesses that Zestiria seems to really focus on and it doesn't give you a lot of freedom to do what you want?? Maybe it's different later on, but for now it's very obvious what attacks you're supposed to be spamming on each boss, whereas I prefer being allowed to get more creative, I guess? Also the OP transformation mechanic from Xillia 2 got reused here, some people like it but I really don't, idk. It seems to be an even bigger deal in this game cause of the focus on elements, since transforming basically infuses you with one of them, then you get to button mash even more mindlessly for a while. Story-wise, idk. Tales games are usually pretty plot-twisty so it'd be silly to judge just yet, but I can honestly say the characters are cookie-cutter (in the bad way, imo) as hell so far. Also the dialogue is something I'd expect out of a way older dub as it's just hammy as hell every other line. Shit like that I can overlook a fair bit, but my main point is that there hasn't been anything compelling me to play more of it so far aside from the fact a lot of people seem to love it, so I'm gonna see if it grows on me. :/ Oh and there's the battle-cam getting stuck in obstacles and stuff. That's just a huge mess all around, no idea how they didn't notice that within like 10 minutes of testing tbh. p.s: MC in particular has such a weird looking chin/jaw ?? |

| Pokemon Red! Been awhile. I still remembered the Mew bug and ended up getting it early. Up to my 7th badge now. >_< Was thinking of picking up the new Fire emblem but...eh. Not interested enough. If it goes on sale sometime in the future then I might pick it up. |
