I think it's obvious, his feelings for Gon, are more than just friendship, there are some romantic feelings there. His thoughts and reactions regarding Gon, seems a bit more dramatic, than something for friendship.

There were also a gay couple in YYH, so Togashi might do it, or hint at it, if it ever finishes.

Honestly, Gon and Killua is pretty much canon already. I know there are a lot of salty fanboys who don't want to see any gay in their anime, but it's pretty undeniable that there's more to their relationship than just friendship. They're such a cute, fluffy ship. I'd love to see them become an official thing.

Let's just look at it this way. The relationship between Killua and Gon is very complex. The creator probably did this to make us ask these questions. While Killua could just be putting out emotions for his first and best friend, when you watch his progression he thinks about his and Gon's relationship wholistically. He was willing to drop everything for Gon if he couldn't change himself. Also, yes Killua has shown romantic feelings for Gon but Gon has not shown many back. However it is evident that Gon feels strongly for Killua he just shows his feelings in a different way than we are used to. It's very possible they have a very strong friendship or more than that. In my personal opinion because I would like them shipped, it seems that Killua definitely likes Gon romantically but Gon may still be making up his mind. Remember they say your best friend tends to be your lover.

I think i'd be happy as long as they remain close throughout their lives- they're too good as friends to ever break apart. However, there is some definite hints that Killua feels something stronger than friendship for Gon, and the reverse can sometimes be seen from Gon's attitude. As they're both children, it's not absolute, but I don't see why not.
