I think in terms of perverted shit and sexuality, when it pops up in an anime that focus around a serious conflict or issue, having a pantsu shot or a perverted character weighing in on dark moments is what really annoys me. It is pretty much saying to the audience "We know you are bored, so to get your boners up, here is a cute lolita showing her latest underwear". Brynhildr in the Darkness is one example that made me drop it at episode five because it contain those elements that I found annoying. I'm a very open person and can discuss sexuality and fetishes in a mature fashion. But these anime don't tackle them maturely and frankly, I do not have to give them my attention. Want to tackle sex? Either do it maturely or make it a porno, so I can masturbate to it. Don't shove it in an anime that is about women on the run from an organisation that has experimented and kill them. | The difference comes in what people expect out of anime. I personally love inspirational anime like love live, kuroko no basket, or haikyuu where the characters work hard and achieve something together, mostly due to my unhappiness with my current status in life and my lack of motivation. Certain people on mal tend to like Violent anime that specifically features the concepts of Judgement, Revenge, and punishment, because it is INDIRECT WISH FULFILLMENT for them. They get to live out the fantasy of taking out revenge on the people who bully/judge them in their real life. |
