That was awesome. I love love Jiraiya and this fight is going to be epic and tragic at the same time. The omake with Kakashi was hillarious as well.

Yay! I got the first post on a major anime.

The omake was funny!
The episode was good too!
New ending was great aswell!

The episode was great... I can't wait for the next episode for the big battle. Though I have a feeling Jiraiya isn't going to win this battle.

Awesome episode, can't wait to see them fight it out. Everything is getting so interesting with all these different groups getting involved. Definitely hoping to see some awesome episodes in the future. Unfortunately though, I made the mistake of looking at Wikipedia after the Jiraiya special and stumbled across some spoilers so somethings are spoiled for me which sucks but I have faith it won't ruin it for me.

Also, after seeing Orochimaru in some of these flashbacks I kinda wish we could see him more during that time.I don't know why but I kind of liked him when he was with Jiraiya and Tsunade, which is weird because I absolutely hated him before.

I wonder which came out first: Death Note, Gundam 00, Code Geass, or Shippuuden. So much of what Pain said reminded me of the other three. Almost verbatim. I don't really have a problem with it since Pain himself is an interesting character, and doesn't seem too generic in design or conception. I do wonder though which one of the boys he is. Is he Nagato with Yukihiro's body or Yukihiro with Nagato's eyes? Or am I completely wrong, and it's just Nagato with orange hair? It looks like we're headed for some very fluid animation and direction, so I'm very happy with what's going on.

OK, this once more confirms my statement that flashbacks are done way better than usual episodes.
However, this wasn't a bad episode(130, not 129), they needed to explain Pain, and they did.

Also, about Pain. He is my perfect imaginary character. Whenever I was thinking what would have happened if somebody would lose someone important to him, and started hating because of that.
Something like Darth Vader in a way. Someone who would so much hate war and those waging war that he would go bad just to stop it. And here comes Pain.
Although it's really nothing new to be like that, he is perfect, because he is just as I imagined person to be. He would be ice cold and wouldn't care anymore.

I think I have just found another favorite character for myself :)

And I think there might be some kind of other spoiler in the OP? Possibly? Looked like Sasuke's eye was getting pulled out? Then some other shot's of his/his brother's eye? nrr...

what's with this episode??? why did they spoiled all this info about nine tails and Mandara?? isn't it too early yet? :/ In the manga these are revealed much later if I remember correct...

Anyway, i liked the new openin and ending theme. ^^
The omake was really funny buy the way xD

Really? I thought this is the best the art's looked the whole year. It doesn't really compare to last year with the Azuma fight, but it really looks good. I like the paper effect on what's her name (not so much the cgi), and the look of the town and Pain creates a really good atmosphere. You can even tell the jump in quality in the omake at the end. The detail in Kakashi and Jiraiya's three-quarter shots was a little suprising, and something as simple as Jiraiya's reflection in the sake was very good looking.

I thoroughly enjoyed these eps. Liked the new intro, makes me excited to see the action fights animated; can't wait to see the fights through and through! And we finally get to see Kakashi buzzed and socializing for fun, which also humored me :)

One of these have the right answer but you have to figure out yourself because it is better that way. I also want to make it clear that as Pain stated Yukihiro is DEAD. And I agree about the animation.

I've got to admit that this is the most thrilling the show has ever really been for me. There never was that much of a mystery in the show, besides Tobi, but that resolved extra qucikly, and wasn't really presented as a mystery. What's going on with Pain right now feels like really substantial maturity in the writing and development of the stor that's been around the same levels since the first series.

As far as Yukihiro being dead, I just assumed that he was being vaguely figurative to leave room for a twist. Oh well. I like what's going on.

Well you should enjoy it as much as you can before it goes down hill from here.
