Episode 1 Endless possibilities... Look like they're jumping into the MWI stuff quicker than I expected. Got moves like Michael. Star-shaped birthmarks, you say? JOJO MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER. Oh and he has the Flying Nimbus. Yup, this is definitely the guy who animated the first episode. Char clone detected. COBURAAAAA. Attack On Dandy. Schrodinger's Cat! OHHHHH NOOOOOO! CURRY RICE WITH NO CURRY? Something's not right here. Lol this is just like the Endless 8 episode, love it. Frantic relaxation is like the best thing ever. Oh man, I'm having delightful flashbacks to the Cromartie finale. Good stuff, show. The dandiest of them all! Great to hear that lovely ED again too. |

Ep 1 [spoiler] Great start for the new season, loved seeing all the references, especially COBURAAAAA Dandy. Yeah the Meow and QT of the emo Dandy were genuinely disturbing lol. Kinda wish the next episode seriously does focus on them, I'd like to see how they acually work together to hunt aliens. The Meow seems pretty OP so I imagine he does most of the work lol. |

Episode 1 [spoiler] Nice start to the new season. The references were great and there was so much going on with all the different dandies that I probably missed some. Cobra was awesome though! I also kinda wish the next episode actually focused on emo dandy, that whole crew is just too insane/absurd, I wanna see more of them xD. |

Episode 1: Well, everyone suspected it by the end of the last series, but at last we have an episode focusing on the idea of parallel worlds. Entertaining as can be expected. ALL THOSE QTs *faints* I have had an abnormal sentimental attachment to vacuum cleaners of various types ever since the first season. coughtheyarealivecough Thank god they kept the old ED, because I love it. |

Episode 2 [spoiler] This episode had some great moments, visually. The whole surfing-on-te-river-of-time scene was great and a couple of other scenes looked very neat as well. Story-wise it was decent, definitely kinda unique, but not really my cup of tea. Also was it just me or did the 'antagonist' kinda look like a chimera ant? |

Ep 2 [spoiler] Cool episode, nice to see an actual visible antagonist in Space Dandy aside from the gorilla guy for once XD That mother gorilla scene was hilarious too. I think some sort of metaphor or symbolism went over my head this episode, but I still more or less managed to enjoy it. Is it just me or is next ep the Yuasa ep. GET HYPE! |

Episode 2 Yeah, Ukeleleman was pretty damn creepy. He was giving off those serial killer vibes pretty well in the statue garden scene. Dandy surfing was nice as well. I also enjoyed watching the different things tumbling in waves of the river of time. Solid episode. Not my favorite, but not the worst either. |

Episode 3 [spoiler] I really liked the first half of dandy exploring the planet and some of its inhabitants/phenomenons. it felt pretty trippy and I liked it. Second half focused more on the comedy and it was still enjoyable, but yeah unfortunately the comedy still doesn't click with me that often. |

Episode 3 Forgot to mention the Yamato ship getting rid of Gel last week lol. WAITRESSES WITH HUMUNGOUS TIPS. Never change, QT. Can you see me now? Gel has never looked this dynamic before. Oh shit, Meow is about to go crazy lol. Jeez, this is full on Mind Game Yuasa now, huh? Nurse Bendy? Planet Pushy Boyfriend sounds about right. Oh man, Meow running to Dandy is so good. Dat trumpet doe. This is what happens when jealousy flares up. But this groovy song is even better? Meow knows the drill. We wouldn't have had to almost die that way. |

episode 3 I found the episode to be enjoyably creative and downright insane, Its very weird seeing dandy animated in ping pong's art style but none the less it was a treat, It wasnt the funniest episode but its charm so strong i felt a smile on my face almost the entire time. |

KingYoshi said: Episode 3 Nice episode. Pretty much agree with you guys. Only thing I didn't like was the VA work (dub) for the fish girl and other fish guy. This episode was pretty weird in a good way, as is the case for many Space Dandy episodes. Other fish guy was voiced by Nakao Ryusei in the sub version, which was pretty cool. At least I'm pretty sure it was him. |

Ep 3 [spoiler] I'm pretty sure everyone already knows how I feel about this. Yuasa Dandy is best Dandy and I agree this episode was probably the most similar thing to Mind Game that I've seen. Yeah just lots of fun, creative, bizarre and engaging. Unfortunately it can only go downhill from here, but hopefully the other directors don't disappoint too much. |

Episode 4 I don't know why I never thought of it before. What has Space Dandy been missing all this time? A fucking musical!!! Haha, this episode was greatness! The gorilla guy cracked me up at the end. I'm definitely going to have to check out the sub of this episode too. Dandy's booty song, lol. Viva all !!! |

Episode 4 Baberly Hills High. A bunch of rich kids dating each other, it'd make for a good show, I betcha. Can't tell if that's an alien or just a paper bag. Secret hot, right? QT, why are you doing that with your arms lol. The GLEE he must be feeling right now. You wouldn't know a dotted sixteenth note if it bit you in the face! Slimer! ET is a jock now lol. This melody sounds like California Gurls. At the very bottom are the anime freaks! Damn, Dandy just got Team Rocket'd. I RAVE DANDHI ❤ Meowstache. The only winning move is not to play. Nobody puts Dandy in a corner! Aw fuck yeah, Rocky training montage for prom! Work dat booty. Believe in the backside. CAMONE! The Michael Jackson jokes aren't going anywhere. Wow, this dancing is really expressive. Lol with your powers combined, I am The Incredible Isaac! If we're entering the Marvelverse now, I guess that makes the giant robot a Sentinel. The universe has a BUTTload of centers. Why is this song so bootyful? VIVA ALL! Even the Sentinel's dancing lol. Yup, this is definitely the one written by the playwright. The next episode is directed by the animation director for the plant episode and judging by the preview, he graduated somewhere around the school of Yuasa. |

Ep 4 [spoiler] Yeah a steep fall from last weeks episode. I mean I don't mind musicals that much. Infact I really enjoyed some horror musicals like Sweeney Todd and Little Shop of Horrors, the songs just weren't very good I think they were parodying highschool musical, which I haven't seen and I don't plan on seeing so I missed a lot of the humour. Plus I just don't like school settings in general, I think we can all agree we already have enough of that in anime. |

Episode 4: I'm personally a semi-secret fan of modern dance musicals in general, but I didn't really enjoy this apart from the animation of the dancing, which I always enjoy regardless of the show. Kind of irked me when Dandy went YOU HAVE SOMEONE NO-ONE ELSE HAS and I was expecting a cliché but touching line about her personality or her brain or her kindness or something, instead of YOUR ASS, but I'll let it go :P |

Ep 5 [spoiler] A great alternate retelling of the classic Ahab and Mobey Dick story. Fantastic experimental visuals, if I didn't know any better i would have thought this was the Yuasa ep. Also really liked that QT and Meow weren't in this ep for long. I mean I like the dynamic they have, but it was getting kinda stale and it was great to see new chars thrown into the mix. 2nd fave ep of the season so far. |

Episode 5 This was another one-man job directed by the animation director of the plant episode and it really shows in its distinctiveness. The connection is easy enough to see, even without knowing this, due to similar liberties taken with the character designs again. Also, he worked on Arrietty, Dennou Coil and The Wind Rise, so this was basically a mix of those two styles. It has this Ghibli-esque upbeat female lead and relaxing atmosphere in the first half. Then, the second half is very energetic and the wave movement is drawn with the simplicity of Kaiba. Finally, it concludes with a happy ending to contrast the Yuasa episode also about fish. Honey/Scarlett episode next week. |

Episode 5 Yeah, this was one of my favorite episodes of the series. I was getting Dr. Seuss vibes from the art in the first half. Now that I know it was done by the animation director of the plant episode, it makes sense. That episode had some really nice and unique art. The female lead of this episode was a very enjoyable character. That action packed fishing on the giant ocean waves was pretty wild. Preview for next episode looked great as well. Fishing x Anime is always a plus in my book :) |

Episode 6 "He was less thrashed when he was a zombie." Looking forward to how these little hints at continuity will play out in the finale. This laugh track is kinda creepy. Gentle and Dandy lol. Honey is super duper smart and apparently half-alien. Cool tune. The word "proclivity" amuses me. Brandi for a Dandy. Is this place haunted or do you have a laugh track with low standards? Aww… I'm gonna knock your monocle ass out, baby. I bet you're a real beast in a fight! Certainly no match for Wrestling Champion Honey though. Dat pouty face. QT's reaction was the bestest. And another Looney Tunes ending. This writeup on Sayo Mamamoto's last episode makes me excited to see what she can do next week. I wonder how prevalent the manga style scenes in the preview are going to be. http://www.hungrybugdiner.com/2014/08/11/sayo-yamamoto-space-dandy-episode-2/ |

Episode 7 This was directed by Sayo Mamamoto (Fujiko Mine, Michiko & Hatchin), who was also responsible for the Vida Namida music video and the ED. I enjoyed her ramen episode, but it pales in comparison to the more distinctive episodes and this one definitely oozed her style. The use of mixed media, namely pop art, is one of her trademarks. |

Episode 6: The fuck was with that laugh track Decent episode nonetheless, though of course one of the weaker ones. I did enjoy the implication that Honey, being half-Cloud-seijin, favours Dandy because he's so pathetic. :3 Episode 7: The style in this episode was great. Really dug it. I agree, more Johnny! And more rock music lol. Dat guitar riff. <3 I really like Suwabe-san's singing voice, too. Never heard him sing in this style and it's really good~ |

Episode 8 The scallop shell is often associated with the spiritual journey into the afterlife. http://i.imgur.com/GjbN9v4.jpg http://www.collectortribune.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Yayoi-Kusama_2011.jpg "Life is a caravansary of delights, but death is our destined lot. The only one difference is for how long one eludes it." "If the grave is one's only aspiration and guarantee, then life is bleak path with little to recommend it. Where for this brief season of breath, m'lady? What reason compels us to live?" The flashy scene transitions are nice and the deterioration reinforces the characters resigned to their death. "Death ain't a joke, baby." "But life is certainly one and I'd wager there are times when you'd be hard pressed to discern one from the other." "How do I live my life? That's the question of the hour." "Aren't asking "how to die" and "how to live" the same thing?" "'Course not and who wants to about dying. Stuff like that's a waste of breath, I say." "One torn up at your ???, you can be, because it will happen to all." "I'm just saying that if I get preoccupied with it, then I might as well keel over right now." "Halting death at a coward's distance does not allow it a spot in your mind. Mortal you are, time to come to better terms with your fate." "No, that's crazy." "Entropy is the end of all creatures left into their own devices. Death is our lot and the lot of everyone that we hold dear. So, think or do not think about the end of your own life. Anon it comes to you, so take your pleasure while you may." The juxtaposition of these cute little creatures singing about the inevitability of death is disturbingly entertaining. Prettyful. "I ain't scared of a candy ass like you" "That's right, back off sucker." These puns, so much win. "Look alive." Nicely chosen words, right before Dandy freaks out about dead people and wow, this song. Broken stained glass from Ballad of the Fallen Angels? The background art is really stunning this week. Planet Limbo, of course. DAT QT face ;_; Jeez. "You can't have happiness without sadness, they're like cousins or some junk!" Dandy's fear of death coincides with the cyclops from earlier. Radiant. Another one showing off the great background design. This is just an all around beautiful episode. Breathtaking. Reminding us of alternate timelines again. "I can't send you back to before you perished, but maybe I can send you to another dimension." "Perhaps, you can escape to one in which the dark nebula didn't signal your end." I didn't expect to actually get an answer to the first season's series of deaths, but there you go. "Honestly, it kinda doesn't matter where I go. Whether I'm alive or dead, I'm still pretty Dandy." Like Bebop and Champloo, the adventure is more important than the destination. And btw, that song was awesome. Lol the music was done by Ogre You Asshole. Apparently all of this guy's work is just as gorgeous, so I'll have look into that sometime. |

Ep 8 [spoiler] You know I didn't think anything could top the Yuasa ep for me this season, with all and my bias and stuff... but this... this was amazing. The idea of Limbo as a planet and the background and alien designs were all amazing. The OST was easily the best out of any of the Dandy eps IMO. Just all around amazing episode. I'm not all that familiar with Yasuhiro's Nakura's stuff, but he needs to make more of it and with more creative freedom. Here is his page on MAL btw. Also the amazing OST this episode was provided to us by the musical talents of "Ogre You Asshole" No I'm not joking |

Episode 7 Johnny Yong Bosch, Geass references, Galaga references, and Dandy as the lead singer in a rock band? It doesn't get much better than that. Excellent episode indeed!! Episode 8 Yeah, that was an amazing episode. So creepy and strange and beautiful all at the same time. The art and design in particular was incredible. Also, loved the death and limbo themes here. Episode 9 Picking up where the musical episode left off, it seems they're making it even more blatant this time with Planet Grease and Ton Jravolta. Nice low angle shot. No one shakes a booty like yours truly! So yeah, it just went into 4:3 for the old school-ness of a record shop. Plenty of sketchy artwork with thicker outlines than usual. http://i.imgur.com/8Zvh9yP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/7zBxIMt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/t8u3A9n.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lgkmSFm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1582rkk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/D5RJnL4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Wiic7PM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/C7pKeDq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SrR3Zpt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RJ7XFmF.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fl5Q3h3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/B0xB1Mb.jpg http://i.imgur.com/W8TV5Gy.jpg Great space, dat booty! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnes_Lum SHAMONE! Saturday Night Fever http://i.imgur.com/12KSAf9.gif As expected, Kameda gave us some nicely animated dance sequences and his style became more obvious towards the end with his trademark sumi-e brushwork. Looks like another Scarlett episode next week. This is next week's animation's director, so hoping for a nice action sequence to come out of the Gundam chase. |

Episode 9 [spoiler] Meh, I still don't care about musical references and the dancing theme didn't really hit home with me either, same for this episode's OST and comedy parts. Episode 10 I'm only at the episode title, but it's already music to my ears. Bang. ;_; Notice me, sempai! Scarlett just opened a can of kickass on Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman. Definitely diggin the music. How romantic. Yay for missile spam porn. This is so me. Fuck spiders. The loose animation really works to show the fumbling nervousness. Also, that monster design looks like The Thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_in_Action_(film) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karate_Kommandos 2 currently airing anime referencing Chuck Norris? This season is on fire. Yeah, the music is on a roll this week. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolph_Lundgren His beloved Scarlett photo falling is a nice little detail amidst all the chaotic rage. The explosion of love! Nicely animated Gundam movement, as expected. ^This guy will be directing TRIGGER's Ninja Slayer btw. Dayum. This shit is jammin. These filmic fades into out of focus backgrounds are great. Begins with Scarlett staring at Dandy in the elevator, ends the very same way. Lovely. Those final five minutes were just one long string of great music. Excluding the musical episodes, this was definitely the episode most identified by its music. Next week, Dandy is reminded of the time he dated a tesseract with the Bubble Gum Crisis/War In The Pocket director handling the storyboard and Toh Enjoe (library ep) is writing the script. |

Episode 9 Grease references are always more than welcome. It is one of my favorites. One of the greatest things about Space Dandy are all of these "old school" references that I can connect with. The art and animation was quite enjoyable even if the plot of the episode was the least interesting part. Episode 10 This was one of my favorite episodes so far. Top 10 episode for the series anyway. I'm 100% Scarlet x Dandy after this episode. The ending was pretty brutal for me :(. I really loved it, but it was a bit depressing too. Episode 11 Catherine is HOT!! ;) Lol, strange episode. Really liked the 2D universe's video game-like sound effects and layout. The rest I thought was just okay. |

Episode 11 Spacial distortion…convoluted…energy anomaly… This is Toh Enjoe, alright. That's a cute little detail, Meow's smiley face is just as sick as he is. The video game FX is a nice touch. Bug up your nose or bug up your butt? What'll it be, Dandy? Meow said Meow! 4th dimensional is a being from the 4th dimension. QT, knowledgeable as always. "Don't you know that the happiest moments in a scientist's life are when they come face to face with the unknown. We spend our entire lives searching for it. Why worry about my fate and ruin such a joyous occasion?" Toj Enjoe really brings the best out of Gel. "At this point, all we can do is continue to press on towards their warp drive!" The silly 2-D graphics in combination with the overseriousness is amusing. Diggin the intimate music. Space Invaders! Yeah, these matching faces are wonderful. QT lightbulbs are nice too. Like how the 360 view of the Alohe Oe is emphasizing its 3D nature. Appropriately fitting video game music. Love how Gel's ship is comically spinning out of control from the shockwave. What's going to happen to my rectangle prince? Nice music again. "We travel through the space between universes." The very nature of this episode with Gel and Bea traveling from 3D to 2D to 1D to 0D is reflective of the underlying multidimensional narrative throughout the series. This also finally echoes the ED lyrics: "One dimension, two dimensions, three dimensions", going from a line to a square to a cube. "Suppose that there's a world in this universe and then, a similar world in another one. Both have the same stuffed animal (Dandy) lying around." "At some point, the stuffed animal will sense this is me and the next moment, the stuffed animal there will sense this is me." This season's opening episode playfully established this and the ED lyrics again: "The alternate worlds will always be parallel." "True, but you forgot to mention you can't sense the switching between universes. From my perspective, Dandy before warping and Dandy after warping are 2 completely different people, so you're not the Dandy I fell in love with." Literally. Like Poe in the death episode, Catherine acknowledges the existence of more than one Dandy. Aww, the tesseract just shed a tear. I wonder if Dandy likes booty so much because they're shaped like Catherine. I'm not familiar with any of Takayama's work, but the opening and closing segments with just Dandy and Catherine have a very delicate touch in comparison to the flat video game look that occupies the rest of the episode. It feels reminiscent of the 80s, which seems appropriate since they're both scenes reflecting on the past. Next week's episode is supposed to be a low budget one in exchange for the grand finale and hopefully, they can be creative enough with it. |

Ep 9 Yeah the weirdly detailed faces and expressions were great, but aside from that just the usual Dandy fare. Ep 10 I like the OST, but Dandy was just his regular douchy self this episode. He flirted with other girls, ignored Scarlet to go alien hunting and blew up her freakin' house... doesn't sound very romantic to me. I did like that they bonded over the action movie thing and the last scene was great. Ep 11 [spoiler] Not a bad episode I enjoyed the various depictions of the dimensions and Catherine was a pretty interesting character. Honestly not much else to say, trippy visuals ftw. |

Episode 12 Definitely low budget, but I dig the scene transitions and the subtle movements, giving the illusion of a real camera. Don't tell me. Dandy…blinded by the wiles of a woman? "…so it breaks into pieces when it hits the ball, sending those pieces towards the pitcher and killing him." Sounds like Samurai Champloo. Michio Mihara worked on Yuasa stuff, so that explains the baseball scene. Ah, they keep on talking about the Pionium, because Dandy's finally going to get caught. The finale's premise is that Gel finally captures Dandy and it looks insane. Ian Sinclair (English VA for Dandy) claims they stick the landing and other sources compared it to the Star Driver finale. |
