THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- What an amazing movie, it's a nice break from complicated, action oriented or fast-paced plots, this movie is so light hearted that it's pure joy watching it. Oh and the quality of the art and animation is just amazing, seriously some of the best I've seen, no less from Miyazaki. Modified by Kineta, 09-09-12, 7:55 PM |

As somewhat of a fan of Ghibli, I had expectations. Overall the movie was a nice watch but there were two points in which I got excruciatingly bored. When there were ten minutes left in the movie, I was ready to turn it off and didn't care about what was going to happen. Overall, I guess it was slightly disappointing. I wouldn't watch it again. I'll still give it a pretty high rating, though, because it went well together as a movie, the ending was precious, and it pulled at my heartstrings. |

When the girls are sitting in that tree with the cat bus at the end and that violin starts playing, gets me every time. |

Calm down dudes, it's a father having a bath with his children, it's not Michael Jackson watching TV and eating Candy in his bed together with someone else's children. |

Extremely charming movie. Totoro is really a weird creature. That cat as well is also pretty weird. A sweet tale of moving on, living in countryside and enjoying everyday's life with his family. The serious undertone toward the end really made it better. Animation was quite spectacular for this time, the clouds were really beautiful and quite realistic. Actually I didn't want this movie to end ;_; |

I held off on Totoro for awhile because it seemed too juvenile. Having finished it, I must say that this is one of the best childrens' films I've had to joy of watching... and it's not just for children. I especially love how Totoro, unlike many of Disney's features, picks a gentle pace and tells its story without having to bag a villain. To-toro to-to ro~ |

This was a lot better than I'd expected. It does have that nostalgic factor, the music was endearing at times and the scenery is really gorgeous despite being a little dated. I actually liked it better than Princess Mononoke which was targeted at slightly older audience. However, I can not get myself to give it more than a 7 because it is after all, a movie for children, which kinda bugged me. If only I could travel back in time and give this to my young self; I'm sure it'd be something I would love at that age. |

I liked this, but even as a grown man I think I found Totoro himself a little terrifying. |
