Software-rendered subtitles are flexible. Hardcoded subtitles are not flexible. |

Soft subs all the way for me. Why? 1. You can adjust them, so if you are far away from the screen, or the colour is hard to see, no problem. I like to increase the default size a little, and make them bright yellow with a shadow for readability. 2. You can turn them off. I'm learning Japanese so sometimes it's desirable. Other times, the translation is just SO damn bad, its painful. 3. You can turn them off. Try it sometime with a show you've watched before, it's quite amazing how much you can miss in the animation while reading. |
