| Should this even be a thread? Chrollo barely had any development, if at all. The Chimera Ant arc dedicated so much of its time developing Meruem. Anyway, if Chrollo won anything in this poll it would have to be charisma. Always thought he was an ominous fellow. |
| Chrollo, because I like him more. It's not even a fair comparison to being with. Meruem was literally created and born at the beginning of the longest arc, and died at the end of it. He has more screen time, more focus, more characterizations because there is nothing hidden about him, and has character development. Friend is better than both of them. I'm just saying. |

| If Kuroro had the same amount of screen time and development I'd like him waaay more. Barely cared about Meruem until his last moments. |

| Yeah, I don't even know the point of this thread. It's definitely Meruem, as others have said he's gotten more screen time and is a large focus in his arc. Comparitively, it seems to me as though the other Spiders get more focus than Chrollo though his presence in Yorknew was very, very memorable. Let's see what he does whenever he comes back into the picture, then maybe there would be more of a discussion. Now, Hisoka and Meruem would be a discussion worth having..... |

| Well, I mean, Hisoka's the only antagonist that is anywhere near close to Meruem as far as characterization so he's all I could come up with. Unless you want to start bringing the Royal Guard into this, I mean. |

| They both are Top villains, the bests i ever see, with great charisma and characterization, but i can't really consider Meruem a villain, he has massive char develop,screentime and deep, while Chrollo doesn't really develop at all. I'm gonna go with Meruem, the best character ever, but remember people, Gennei Ryodam isnt down yet. I'm sure Togashi is gonna develop the hell out of Chrollo and make all the members even more likeable,he's the mind that produce CA Arc remember? I don't really think any other char could surpass Meruem,but let's see what happens. A Hisoka vs. Chrollo thread would be smth memorable though. |

| Chrollo by far. I choose Chrollo for his charisma, love for his comrades, and absent fear of death. Meruem did have better development, but I honestly liked the fact that Chrollo was for the most part shrouded in mystery. |

| They are not nearly as engaging enough to be the best villains in shounen for me, but they do have their merits. From where the anime left off, I'd have to go with Chrollo even though we will never see his plotline come to fruition. I prefer his design, abilities, personality and the mystery surrounding his person. Not to mention his relations to some of my favourite characters. This just reminds me of all that was left off with the ending. It's not as bad as Berserk's, but being longer it left so much unfulfilled. |

| How is this even a question? The only way you can select Chrollo (besides changing this into a "favourite character") is if you only consider the parameter "charisma". Meruem was fully developed and had much more screen time so he obviously wins. I like to think that there will be a Yorknew II where we will get some complete fleshing of Chrollo's character. I like them both though. |

| Antagonist-wise, Hisoka is my favorite followed by Meruem, so my vote's for him. Though I like the troupe as a whole better than the ants, none of them really got much individual development and Chrollo had some of the least. |
