Ultimate episode 5/5 it is a shame I can't go higher. I never thought I'd see a date so compressed like that and like it. I am the light and the darkness tossed away by fate. I am hope and despair needed by all and to none. I am CuresDestiny. Fear me or Not it is all the same to me. <insert maniacal laughter here> ![]() |

The sub group was a bit iffy, and made a mistake with calling Kanbaru Hitagi's 'senior', when she's obviously her junior, 'kouhai'. Nothing too big, I suppose. But still pretty amateurish. They didn't translate the leading text into the episode either, and the way things were translated didn't make the speech flow as naturally as gg do it, resulting in awkwardness at times. That was a beautiful episode, it really was. Despite thinking that this episode was going to be filled with Hanekawa, she was only mentioned once. Still, there are three more episodes left. But, even as a tv finale, this episode really was perfect. It reminded me of the closing episode of Mayoi Snail, when Hitagi and Araragi begin their relationship. Their lunches at the start were really cute; 'I love Hitagi', with crabs, and 'I love Koyomi'. It's nice to see Hitagi so assertive, and incredibly devious. Her poking fun at Araragi was really sweet, and just so her. She even acts that way in front of her father. Found it amusing that whenever Araragi called her 'Senjougahara', Hitagi went and called her father. One part of this episode that I especially liked was when Hitagi confronted Araragi in the car about what he liked about her, he only threw out negative things. When she asked him later, he gave an honest answer, while Hitagi gave the same answer she did in the car. I'm glad that Hitagi's father accepted Araragi, even though Araragi was somewhat like a martyr throughout the conversation, saying that he didn't do anything to her, that he didn't help her, that she did it all herself. I was glad when her father said that at least he was there by her side throughout it all. A more tragic, slightly awkward part was Hitagi bringing in that cult member who raped her. She was brutally honest about it, and it was touching when she told Araragi that she was afraid to hate him, since she'd see anyone who touched her body like that in the same vein as the attacker. It's a common trait with abuse victims, and I'm somewhat surprised that it was mentioned. Araragi did the right thing by taking her hand, a very gentle, careful motion. And so real. Her pain, and awkwardness was certainly palpable, and even for a usually blunt girl like Hitagi, it must have taken a lot of courage to say. As soon as Araragi saw the stars, the ending theme came into my head, as I'm sure it did for a lot of you. I was pleasantly surprised when Hitagi mentioned that the stars were 'Denab, Altair, and Vega', and that they were the 'triangle Summer of stars', directly taking from the ending theme's lyrics. I can associate that scene with the song now. It's amazing how it tied in at the end. I got a bit sniffy at that point, especially how Hitagi said that that place was her 'treasure', how she went their with her parents, and had nothing really to give Araragi. |

I've just realized that the episode I downloaded was not from gg, It was actually from DD. *Gasp!* that totally fooled me, no wonder the opening text weren't translated. As for the episode, it was good, tbh, I'm not really supporting any pairings in this series. I'm just watching things unfold for our main character :P |

dear god that was heartwarming. when they lie there looking at the sky, I finally understand why the ending theme is about deneb, altair and vega and other stars(the whole song is not about stars btw) and then exactly at that time an piano arrangement of this song is played. can't wait for the soundtrack and piano sheets. anyway, isn't the last ona episodes about the flash back arc and not tsubasa arc? |

Good News: This episode really outdone itself. The anime is kinda like this: Nadeko Snake Part 2 = Horrible (animation that is), Tsubasa Cat Part 1 = Good, Tsubasa Cat Part 3 = Awesome. i can;t wait for Tsubasa Cat part 3-5. I hope someone will rip it and sub it. No, I don't hope. I DEMAND. I'd choose ep 13-15 ro be subbed rather than have a drink of water when I'm dying of thirst. Bad News: I was waiting for the story like on Tsubasa Cat, and i was waiting for the OP: sugar sweet nightmare. ;; |

Agree with Meriejoanna that was really heartwarming. I also thought it was funny though I wouldn't have minded to actually see the kiss.(not that it was needed) It was one of my favorite and finally Senjougahara (not father) was back and it didn't disappoint. ![]() |

If this show had only consisted of the first two episodes and this one it would probably have deserved something close to a 10/10. Alas for all the useless stuff that spoiled the rest of it. Had there been more male characters instead of only female protagonists (apart from Araragi), had there not been any hints of polygamous relations, sexual pervesions passed off as whims or underraged girls shown in ambiguous situations, had there been less references to useless trivia, had there not been any weird animal-girl fetish and less unnecessarily graphic violence, this show would have been truly great... Nevertheless, this was one of the more moving episodes I have seen in a while. Senjougahara's words as to the difficulty she has to consider physical love after her traumatic experience, was both touching and sad. If only the unlikely physical teasing and sexually heavy mutterings of Senjougahara had been absent, this episode would have been awesome. Modified by kerlyenai, 09-26-09, 10:40 AM |
