Noe. Like everyone else, not even giving it a second thought.

Unlike Noe, Hiromi seemed to be a really mean person. She could have made her move several times, but decided to wait until Noe was in the picture to say something about it. Not only that, but she was also abusive to Noe whenever they met.

Noe > Hiromi any time.

Noe is his real support, Hiromi loves him but take him for granted.

Noe sure is strong for a moe little girl.

Hmm well to be biased to your biased Hiromi didnt 'make ' her move because of things His mother did such as lying about possible blood relations? It had nothing to do with Noe- And she made it clear for him to make his choose and she would accept it- Once you find the reasons behind things.. shes far from a mean person. Shes human. As for Abusive.. that's protectionist .. shes finally close to gaining what shes desired.. most of her issues are finally* settled away. And then pops up Noe, thats a sort of insecurity not 'abuse' Rude? Perhaps but no where near abuse - so I would drop that angle of attack. So hey you can look at it from that perspective to.. but you won't - her actions are quite 'human' *shrug*

Noe did almost nothing for me - so I guess ill be "not like everyone else" with my Hiromi without a second thought. (Oh and the only 'mean' character would be his mother, from my point of view- as her insecurities and jealousies seem to rule her life until she realizes the damage shes done)

Definately Noe.
For me it felt like her and Shin had way more development than Hiromi(poor Aoki, she felt so ignored and insignificant in the story and to the fans). I honestly don't see the appeal of Hiromi since all we were given is that 'they had a past'. Childhood friend? That's fine and all, but moe Noe really stuck out to me in the show.

This. Hiromi. Noe was just some little girl. He didn't love her, he loved the things she told him, and the confidence she gave him. He always loved Hiromi, and Hiromi and she always loved him, so why would they not get together?

You don't just stop loving someone.

I felt very disappointed when I finally figured out Shinichiro picked Hiromi.

When Jun entered the basketball court to protect Hiromi, I thought Hiromi will come to like Jun and they will end up together. That would have made everyone happy, although I didn't like Hiromi much.

Noe was a lot more interesting character and both Shinichiro and Noe needed each other. Hiromi didn't seem like she had anything to give to Shinichiro. Aiko turned out to be most mature among them though.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

I agree. If there was anything definite I could say about this anime, it is that I would of liked it a lot more if he went with Noe. Hiromi appealed to me very little, and she just seemed kind of dull and unremarkable, with no particular traits worth noting. Noe was unique, kind, and really helped Shinichiro grow as a person.
No offense, Hiromi-fans.

Totally agree. Noe had a stronger bond with Shinichiro and Hiromi was just a "little" lost in everything. At the end I really felt like Shinichiro didn't know who to pick up. It was like he really liked and wanted to be with Noe but tried hard to stick to his love for Hiromi. Which I honestly find a simple stupid crush.

I never understand why someone says Hiromi is boring or emotionless especially when she shows the most complex emotions out of all the characters.

Noe, easily. She actually sought to help buoy up Shinichiro when she was able to, despite seemingly nobody in her life doing anything for her for years besides her sketchy-sketchy older brother. She was an appealing character in that she was very perceptive, protective of those she cared about, and (though they got away from it in the series' latter half) straight didn't give a fuck what others thought about trivial things.

Hiromi wasn't boring (perhaps outside of character design, but even then she had a great deer-in-headlights look), but she was weak, jealous, and codependent. She has good reasons for being that way, but it doesn't change the fact or make those traits more appealing. It only made me sorry for her and wish that her ending had involved being able to find her own strength.

I actually felt it was leaning that way for her before fizzling, which was just one of the many ways I felt robbed as a viewer by the series' end. It was as though the creators vacillated when plotting much of the storyline (they could have cut so much and been better off for it), pulled it together and came up with a pretty good ending, but then replaced it at the last minute with an bland bucket of pap. I just want to pretend that the series ended before the Aiko scene in episode 7, because it seems like most of the decisions made after that point served only to weaken the show.

Hiromi. I sympathize with her. She has to live that her mother was the bad person. Shin's mom doesn't make anything better treating her like a slave. I'd probably be emotionless around Shin's family too.
