Manga's that are in serious need of scanlations

I hate it when all these raws are available and the series itself is actually already completed in Japenese but scanlators aren't bothering to translate and scan it, while wasting time on big, yet boring mangas like Naruto, Bleach, etc.

For me, the two major ones are Suki Desu Suzuki Kun and gokukoku no brynhildr, and there are definitely more that i can't list off the top of my head. Usually the ones im really waiting for are shoujo or seinen, but uuughhh i hate waiting. I've even started scanlating a little at a time so i can know what happens next (the translations/typesetting is really bad though, because my current computer doesn't have photoshop)

But for you guys, what Manga's are in serious need of updates that are related to the apathy of scanlators?

both manga you mentioned are currently being scanlated though at slower pace.

look at those manga which haven't been scanlated for months. i understand your feelings

but your situation is still better.

i am waiting for BOKURA WA MINNA KAWAISOU and even contacted few translators.

Why should they bother doing something for you? Scanlators don't get pay. It's only natural for them to do the series they like.

Like the others said both of those titles belong to the lucky ones ... with enough popularity or a dedicated team working on them - so that they are more or less actively scanlated.

There are more than enough mangas out there which slipped into eternal limbo after scanlators becoming uninterested, translators gone missing or whole scanlation team going belly up. Plus there is the giant amount of titles which never have seen a scanlator to begin with. It's just that there are that many titles out there.

'Baggataway' or 'Shiharu Genesis' would be two which I hold dear and which have absolutely nobody working on them.

As for the one who made the thread, the translators aren't paid they do it on their free time,it's up to them wich mangas/animes they translate. If you hate so much to wait, just learn Japanese and read the raws.

I know that, I'm not mad at the scanlators, the whole point of this thread is inquiring what similar experiences others have. TBH if mangas that are scanlated once every two months by "dedicated" teams is considered good, i find that completely ridiculous. With a good translator, I could do a page myself in a few minutes with photoshop.

Not really sure because I read the raws, but I remember seeing a couple years back that only a dozen or so chapters had been translated.

I know, I have so many mangas on my hold list. I dont understand why are there "New manga requests" threads when finished manga aren't complete and ongoing manga aren't updated. I dont mind if i have to wait 1-2 weeks but months and years?! thats tooo much.

I keep hearing nothing but good things about Choujin Locke yet there are no English translations anywhere. And it's too old to gain spotlight anytime soon, I'm afraid...

I've actually started to consider getting RAWs and try to coax some group to get and translate it.

I'd do it myself but I don't speak Japanese. Not that I know too much about editing manga pages either, but I do know about editing. Plus the guides don't look all too complicated either.

Most of the series on my reading list haven't had an update in ages. There's only a few series you can count on getting regularly translated. That's why I prefer picking up manga that have a full translation.

Not only is this a simple listing thread but it encourages piracy.

Awesome.

That said I guess I'll go with Boku Girl getting translated faster than 4 days later when its fucking 19 pages long.

Kochi Kame (a.k.a. - Kochira Katsushikaku Kameari Kouenmae Hashutsujo)

It's been running since 1976, is the longest running serialized manga, and is currently still ongoing. There are currently a total of 189 Tankoban, and I've found scanlations for... only 16 chapters online out of the 1800+ that have been produced.

It's super popular in Japan and, according to Wikipedia, has sold over 145 million copies.

Yeah, let's just say this one is in DIRE need of scanlations.

One i really want to see translated completely is Shigeshoushi

It's already completed and been translated till chapter 36... there are 42 chapters in total!!! XP...

It's been more than a yr since the manga finished and even longer since the last translation, so i have vey little hope of them finishing the translations... but argh... it was only 6 more chapters!!! T.T

Oh, n more good news for u, it seems a scanlation grp is translating the BWMK manga, they just released chapter 6 today!!!

Edit: ahaha... whoops, jus realised this post was absolutely pointless. @orithyea, yeah, i spoke to soon in the first post. I last checked up on Shigeshoushi in March, so I had no idea ppl had begun translating it until right after that first post when i decided to check up on shigeshoushi agn xp...

And it seems rajin90 already knows BWMK is being translated since his signature announces it -_-... i feel like an idiot

Hana Yori Dango.
The available scans are poorly translated and edited. For a large majority of it, there are pages upon pages of missing bubbles. I love the series, and it makes me a little sad to see it this way. Oh well, I'll eventually buy the books(but it's 36 volumes! I'm broke!).
