| Greed Island might be the "weakest" arc but it's still good for what it is, just happened to be sandwiched in-between the two best arcs in the series |

| This is how i see h x h arcs: Exams-8/10 :Great introductory arc, was very light hearted, fun and interesting, kept me on the edge of my seat. It had excellent pacing Zoldyck Family- 6/10: Killua's famiky was cool, but other than that, nothing really stood out in this arc Heaven's Arena- 7/10 Fun, but early on it was a little boring. After learning nen it became pretty cool Yorknew city- 10/10 - By far the best arc. It was an amazing dark thriller, and had excellent villains. And finally Kurapika gets his time to shine. My only problem with this arc was that it was too shirt- an extra 10 episodes would've been great Greed Island: 7/10 Solid, but the arc suffers from a terrible villain. Bisky and the extra nen trainung was good. Chimera ant arc - 5/10: By far the worst. Why make the villains ants? Why? And they don't even look like ants because they are chimeras....the character design, pacing and training (Knuckle) parts of this arc were horrible. And this arc doesnt do anything to the story apart from introducing kite. |

I think the training with Knuckle and Shoot was important for Gon witnessing total defeat and Killua freed himself from Illumi was also important to develop his individuality. Imagine a Killua trying to save Gon through Alluka being under the spell of Ilumi. The pacing was indeed very slow but since the whole Invasion was very fast in real time the pacing was necessary, especially regarding at which level of speed Netero and the King where fighting. Moreover were the inner monologues and narrations very important. And lastly the importance of this arc shows off soon enough, this is Togashi after all. |

| It's starting to seem that the Zoldyck palace seems to be getting side-stepped simply because people decided to call it an arc. I personally think this set of episodes was a great set up and introduced a ton of enigmatic characters, and all in just 5 episodes. Kikyo, Silva, Kalluto, Gotoh for example. Which makes me think, is Zeno really the most sane/nice person in the family? Also, the climax being a coin game was pretty sweet. |

And this arc doesnt do anything to the story apart from introducing kite. it was incredibly important for killua's and gon's relationship and character development and is therefore very important for the story complaining about the ants, really? of course they don't look like real ants, this is a piece of fiction set in a fictional world ffs your issue with character design and the training part are subjective the pacing seemed fine to me, the start was a little slow but after that it became really good When the election arc started, the chimera ant arc felt like it was just a filler arc, and it felt like I was finally watching the good old hxh again. I saw a few people saying this at the start of the election arc as well. This arc just felt like it didn't belong in this series. |

Generalized, stupid statements like that that can't be backed up by definition just let me think of a hater, not of a complaint. Exaggerations like that are usually a haters tool, especially the one-liner manner in which you and some others voiced your opinion. And it's not like I don't get watching one or more sub-par arcs in a show you actually like (also @Setsuko & judals), but when I hate an arc so much that I call it the 'worst' or 'dullest' out of the thousands of anime that exist or of the hundreds of anime that I've seen, that goes beyond some small issues and would definitely make me think about reconsidering my whole attitude to the show. I mean any negative superlative brings up comparisons to REALLY bad stuff (y'know, Pupa, the worst Bleach and Naruto filler arcs, other terrible stuff, both subjectively and objectively) and if you feel like that about a show, even if only for an arc, I'm having a hard time assuming you're a fan with a complaint instead of just someone who hates the show, without any additional knowledge. It just wouldn't ever happen to me, because when I really like a long-runner even the lamer arcs are still more enjoyable than a lot of other stuff simply because I usually like the cast, setting etc..., I don't get how enjoyment within one series can vary from 0 to 100 like it apparently did for you with GI (dullest in existence) and the Chimera Ant arc (one of your favorites), that is not how it works for me. That's not how being a fan of a show works for me. I wouldn't use negative superlatives for anything that I didn't drop though, because if the stuff you watched is already the worst/dullest, how do you describe the stuff you dropped? tl;dr: Think about the implications of using superlatives, otherwise don't complain if you're mistaken for a hater. It's the negative version of random threads calling random new anime Y 'The best animu EVER' without anything backing it up, but generalized one-liners are still generalized one-liners, be it praise or complaint. I'm just annoyed if people use a superlative by default whenever they complain so by taking it literally I hope to show them how stupid it is. And if you really meant it as a superlative with all the implications, I'm still as puzzled as before and hopefully explained a bit better why. |
