| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Yay, China is back. I just love this guy and what he has to offer. Of course, he finds some competition already although the match wasn't even close in the beginning. The OST is awesome this episode matching perfectly with the pacing. China is a really awesome character imo although I think he's thinking a bit much about his opponent. The motifs of the bike and engines also matched well. Great episode. Looking forward to more~ A lot of humming too. |

| WOW! Smile is toooo OP! He totally owned Kong there O_O! It's clear as day that he let him win in the end. As was being foreshadowed, he must have felt bad for Kong and lost on purpose. Though it seems Kong and pretty much every other strong player figured that out too ^^; Dat Humming XD I really didn't expect Smile to be that much strong than Kong though, I wonder who will even be considered a challenge for him now from Japan? Are we going national already? Totally loved the OST as well ^^ I found the manga panel style of animating the sequence of events quite interesting. One might say it's lazy, just copy pasting the manga with colors but I didn't mind it ^^ |

| This show just keeps on getting better and better. I didn't like the middle of the OP that much but the rest was very good. Smiles was cool the whole episode, too bad he let him win in the end. I guess people can't change too fast. Would have loved it if they had put the machine noises in again. Peco is once again having a feeling that he might not really know Smiles. Looking forward to where this goes. |

| The animation and music during Tsukimoto and China's match grabbed me by the balls and didn't let go. It was a stunning sequence of color and sound. The 3 episode rule says......... Gonna keep watching. Damn. One other factoid to note. This anime has now covered over 20 chapters of the manga in 3 episodes. Once again. Damn |

| Great episode. The match was very intense, just as a good sport match should be. There is something so captivating in the noise of the rubber sliding across the floor and the Ping Pong ball hitting the table. Voice acting was excellent as always. New OP is nice. 5/5 |

| Wow I'm liking that OP :D It was wonderful. I also love how confident Smile was when he was talking to the coach. He asks if the coach wants him to skunk (lol) his opponent, beat him in 10 minutes, or beat him in 5. His humming during the match with Wenge made me want to hum too. It's too bad he understood what Wenge's coach was saying and then lost the match on purpose :/ He really is too kindhearted. |

I wonder which song is it.. That guy finally made it to beach. XD Good episode. Great stuff and decent OST. |

| Dat opening. Smile is so OP. He was even humming. It's too bad that he gave up the match in the end, but it would be no fun if he won the nationals so soon. The sudden change in character was surprising though, was he provoked by the dragon guy? | i've never been a fan of sports-themed shows, but this one is really standing out. maybe i'm just a formalist bitch who enjoys anything slightly different from the usual anime style, but apart from that, this show is really drawing some interesting character-development lines with a very intriguing pace. it feels so... mature? i dunno. certainly the best show of the season, at least for me. it makes everything else looks like a spoiled kid's puke. <3 |

| This show is incredible. I actually really loved the OP this time but AGH Peco chewing the gum was scary. the episode's material was great as well, and I was interested the whole time. The score is FANTASTIC. The art style reminds me of Katamari Damacy.... and I really love this art style. It puts emphasis on certain things that normally wouldn't have emphasis. Seeing China lose was funny. I can't wait to see how this series wraps up... I still loooooove the ED! It's beautiful! |
| The music in this anime is just awesome. although for me the music when kong won was more epic that mere humming although the humming was to convey an idea i guess. Also, isn't china suppose to be the final boss? who is going to challenge smile if he demonstrates he is better in the third episode? I guess Kong was kind of taken on surprise a former national team representative shouldn't be beaten in the third episode. |

| I'm really enjoying the progression of this compared to other sports anime (get better then beat the best or world championship dreams etc.) To be fair though haikyuu!! could probably convince anyone to play sport at any level. |

| Just when I think this anime can't get any better...IT DOES. As a varsity college athlete, I can say with confidence that this has been of the most accurate and highest quality portrayals of a sport that I have seen in ANY medium EVER. The characters are so damn good that I can barely believe this is real. 10/10 so far. One of the best anime I've ever watched. I seriously cannot praise this enough!!! Now, about the episode: Smile let China win on purpose, because he felt bad for him. Dammit Smile!!! He doesn't have the will he needs to win. He doesn't want to hurt people. He turned off his robotic beast because he was too worried about his opponent's feelings and future. Reminds me of myself when I was much younger. |
