You managed to spell all the others right, yet you somehow managed to misspell the best one. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Clannad isn't perfect, but it's one hell of an anime.

If you didn't cry when you watched After Story, then you should be ashamed of yourself.

Episode 18 is the only legitimately well done touching moment in AS and it's completely irrelevant by the end.

It is worth watching at least. Not really my favorite romance series though, and not perfect.

Although after story is perfect. I don't think Clannad is, but it is better than the rest u listed. All of the others have those stupid tsunderes or stupid characters in general that I seriously want to burn alive.

lol @ thinking Toradora is even close to being perfect or comparing it to Clannad. Same with Baka and Test. Haven't seen the other show.
But no, Clannad is no where near perfect. A lot of the characters in the show are annoying plus some plot holes

No anime is perfect. I dropped Clannad because it was just so freaking boring. But everyone says it gets better in After Story, so I plan to get back at it. So for now Toradora is better.

Torradoa! was good. I liked when Rouji and Tigaia had the romance scenes.

In terms of the high school arcs, clannad didn't really impress me much. I'd say toradora was much better in that respect. Clannad shone in its after story, and only after tomoya graduates and faces adult society.

I know it's a little off-topic, but...

With all this discussion about how Clannad's ending is awful (I haven't seen it yet, and probably won't anymore,) has Key ever written a straightforward romance story without any shoehorned supernatural elements? Kanon had some ridiculous arcs in my opinion, and Air certainly seemed like it was heading in that direction...

Edit: Although, I do think the supernatural focus in Angel Beats worked quite well.

I don't know about their VN but in anime NO.
AIR, KANON, CLANNAD, ANGEL BEATS and Little busters all have their fair amount of supernatural elements. So if you want simple straightforward romance without supernatural elements than Key's anime are not the right thing for you.

Perfect and Clannad shouldn't be in the same sentence.
Yoshii Kiria took over as leader of Fairytale and rebuilt it and became one of Tsukunes formidable enemies but let's save that story for another time

Hehe, let me introduce him to you again, kid. This is Shuzen Issa (who is MIA during the final battle), who will become your 'trainer' starting today. You still have much to go if you want to become the headmaster.

Like the two souls have started to become one.

The Familiar of Zero shouldn't even be compared to Clannad or Toradora, it's absolute garbage.

Clannad: After Story > Toradora > Clannad
Haven't watched enough Baka to Test to make that judgement, and haven't watched any School Days.

Perfect, no. Perhaps the best anime some people will see yes assuming you are including after story. Not everyone will relate to Clannad in the same way. Personally, I really enjoyed the series and I believe it will be one of my top 2 or 3 series for a long time. However, this is in part because I graduated high school last year and I understand a lot of the feelings the characters are trying to portray. The series also appeals to a lot of people who are huge romantics like myself. It portrays a kind of "true love" that many of us seek. One of my favorite unique aspects about this series is while after story addresses a lot of the serious, adult issues, the original series gives us human characters and shows how strong relationships develop. It is a true coming of age story that is not very common in anime.
