<-- me^^
I buy nearly everything I read. I've just a few scans on my list, which I randomly picked up. But the last scan I've read... a year ago or so, 'cause I bought so many over the last year, more than I can read^^... I've currently over 200 books in my shelves, which I haven't read yet... *lol* no time :'/

Both for me - especially since I found out that scanlations look great on my Kindle.

Considering I have a BIG enough mangalist, I'd say no , I don't rly buy much manga . I used to buy Nousatsu Junkie but for some reason the 7th volume wasn't up when I expected it'd be on amazon so I stopped .
Unfortunately , where I live there's no mangashop so ordering online is the only way and this is not so easy either . There are mangashops in major city an hour away from my city but the traveling fairs , plus the city is pretty huge and unknown for me is well waste of time and money . And now I study on an island and I haven't found any mangashops or anything either . I only happen to go to a mangashop like twice a year so by then I've read most of the stuff they have and that interest me .
Plus tbh , I prefer manga on my laptop . Yes the quality of the scans and trans may be bad sometimes but the pages are big and with light . I'm more like a book irl and manga online person xD Not that having the actual manga would make me sad , I'd proly fangirl but yeah xD;

I very rarely read a scan, and if I do it's from an obscure one-shot (20-50 pages) which isn't going to be available legally. But for the rest I buy the books, because:

1. I'm helping the artist and the industry
2. To read from the actual book is so much better than reading a crappy scan
3. I can read it everywhere

I normally just read scans on the internet, but I have bought a few manga that I really like. My library is poorly funded so there aren't any manga.

I used to read Manga from the school library but after I found out that there were newer chapters/volumes that had only been translated online, I've started reading them online ever since. I do have 2 volumes of the Bleach Manga though. I only purchase Manga which have the best fights/storyline and such that would make me re-read again and again. (ie. Ichigo VS Byakuya), heh.

Most common is to buy them used or from a discount online vendor - I like having something physical to hold.

I will frequently check out scans online to see if the general feel is what I want, but never read the whole series that way.

Scanlations. Scanlated manga are way ahead of licensed manga, at least here in the U.S., and at the same time, I'm saving money. -isacheapperson- Plus, the variety is much wider.

I usually buy my manga from a book store or order online (usually for out of print ones) the only reason being I really don't like reading manga off a computer screen. It just doesn't feel the same. I'll make the occasional exception when I'm really desperate to find out what happens next or if it's unavailable in English and I really want to read it.

I buy them online from archonia.com/bookdepository.com. Or browser the buy/sell forums at aniway.nl. Bookstores in my city don't sell them, and the only comic store we have sells them at way to high prices. Library has virtually no manga (only one or 2 or so dutch translated ones(which I don't really like))

I do all of these. If it's something that's only been scanlated and doesn't have an official copy for me to buy, I read scans of it online. If it has been officially translated, then I try to find it at the library first to save money, but if it's not there, then I buy it if it's still available in stores. If it's an old manga that isn't still available in stores, then I might order it off of Amazon.

The nearest bookstore is like 5 hours away... And its manga collection is very limited and expensive. So I read all of it online on my amazingly handy little 4g iPod.

My Past is marred by a gaping slash,
Yet somehow my Present is airy, carefree;

I absolutely love to buy manga. Mostly what I spend my money on. So when I have the money I buy it.
If I don't have money at the time I get the series that my library has. Because they are awesome and have a huge variety.
And if it's not translated yet I read it online (mostly yaoi). I don't like to read it online, I feel guilty. I'm learning Japanese right now so eventually I'll hopefully just be buying all my manga.

Usually I read it online. However, there are some longer manga (like Vagabond or GTO, in this moment) I download and then read. I prefer to buy them, but I can't do this very often because here in Uruguay it's very expensive... :/.

I do all. I mostly buy and read online. I only read unlicensed manga online though. I sometimes go to the library to read manga but all they have there is Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha, Fruits basket, and Dragon ball. I wish they had some more titles but oh well.

Less people read in Library. In my old school, they have few manga in a rack.
Students could donate directly or indirectly( a.k.a. got caught bring manga).
There is like 2 weeks delay in my recent reading list
I randomly bought discount/second hand manga with cute/mysterious cover.

I dislike reading off the screen, hurts my eyes.

I read Japanese manga, so I usually buy new them off a Japnaese website. Somtimes I buy them used off jp yahoo auctions. Sometimes if I go to Kinkokuniya bookstore, which is farrrr away, I might buy some there.

So yes, i buy them. Hate reading off the computer screen :s

I always read manga online, but if I love it so much (like seriously a lot) or I have one volume from the series, I'll buy the rest when I can from the bookstore. If I can't find it in a bookstore, then I hunt it down online. But, like I said, you'll mainly find me reading the scans.

I kind of do a combination of a lot of the options. I download scans for manga that is unlicensed or rare and OOP, I checkout manga from the library that is either incredibly long or not something I like enough to purchase, and I buy manga that I either really love or can't find anywhere else (or is from a company I totally adore like Vertical or Fantagraphics.. yes, I will buy anything Vertical releases at this point).

In order of preference:

- Check out from library
- If not there, buy the actual book
- If not available anywhere (or if not translated yet), read online.

So far I'm new to manga, but meh. I'll read online if there's no other way or if I can't afford to do anything else, but yeah - I can watch anime on my laptop since that comes on a screen anyways, but as for reading something, I prefer the actual book in my hands.

I do it all, lol. I usually buy it from bookstores used, so that saves tons of money. I go online for discounted things, like Rightstuf sales, and I read scans on some longer running series I collect because I'm impatient, but i'll still buy those series in physical form anyway. In the off chance that I've read everything I bought, I go to the library to see what they get.

I personally prefer reading my manga in person - I just love holding it, and I find I'm able to read it without getting distracted like I do online.

But I read manga online as well. I usually read a series online, then end up buying it and re-read it in person.

My first choice is always my local 'Half Price Bookstore'
#2: Regular bookstores
#3: Buy them online
#4: Read them online

Buying online is quickly increasing though as I begin to read more and more manga in actual Japanese, to bad shipping sucks pretty bad though or I would probably order even more.
