It'll begin in the evening of the 14th for most. Are you going to try to catch a glimpse of it? If not what better things do you have to do?

I can't remember the last time I viewed a lunar eclipse, glad I got info on it beforehand though. Probably going to stay up all night to see all the different stages.

Northeastern Asia will get a glimpse of the later stages. Though there's always the next one, should be some info in the link on those.

Yup, if you can take multiple photos. Could compile them together into a gif and use it as an avatar =P.

*edit* Now that I think about it that would be very difficult to do haha.

i wish....but the only camera i have is a jank ass 1.3 mega pixel camera on my 9-year-old cell phone

i couldnt even get pictures of super moons with it despite the fact i went to the roof of the 20-story building i live in. it looked like a blurry light bulb on a black background

damn that would be a nice ass avatar though

Wow bummer :/, lol yeah cellphone camera's are the worse.

True, but it would have to be a moving one because the phases of the eclipse would move with the moon. Only way to get a stationary eclipsing moon would be with editing alone or pictures compiled from different locations.

Cool, I've never seen one before. I'll have to remember to check this out.

Hmm.. times are kinda late, but I have trouble sleeping anyway. So, I guess it works out, heh.

Nah always when some events like this happen I'm in the wrong location, time, or weather blocks them. So in general I give up on trying to see em.

I should be able to see it here from California right?

Though it's been really gloomy/foggy today. Not sure how good the visibility will be here tonight.

Just checked my visibility here. Cloudy as hell, my luck I swear. I believe I have about half an hour to a hour before it starts waning. Hopefully clouds will have moved some. Though I can hear the wind outside so chances might be in my favor and they'll blow away :D.

Yeah, I despise light pollution. Good thing I live in a rural area though. Clouds just left woo! I can see it beginning, it's like the beginning of a solar eclipse waning on the left. Cold as hell though, going to have to get some heavier cloths if I want to stay out longer.

man i am jealous

must be nice stepping outside to some crisp, cool, fresh air and look into a clear night sky and see the eclipse and the stars and enjoy it in peace and quiet

instead i gotta step out into pollution, fog, highway noise and police sirens and smell the garbage and squint to see the next building

lol I've been to New York. It's sooo gross that garbage is left out in plastic bags for collection especially when it's rotting in sweltering heat. You guys don't use garbage bins at all or what?

Nice! I didn't even think about this, I should have though. As for piece and quiet yeah it's nice though we live near a train track so that can be annoying. Also it's 40F outside and damp air, though still pretty comfortable.

about 30% of nyc doesnt use garbage bins - but the famous part (part youve probably visited) - manhattan - doesnt use garbage bins at all lol.

it still smells bad in most areas here though. whenever i land in the airport in nyc and step outside, im shocked i breathe this air in all the time

but yea in the heat it's the worst. i used to go to high school in the slums of the bronx, and i literallly used to quarantine my clothes and bags and whatnot before i go into my room due to heat + garbage + bronx + subway + public bus
