| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Finally, been waiting like forever for this. Decent OP song for starters imo. It's going to take me awhile to get used to Hinata's voice so.. Anyways, intense atmosphere and the competitiveness of this show draws me in. Since it'll be 2 cour, I expect development. I juts hope it will be consistent and faithful to the material because that would be awesome. But yeah, I liked the first episode. |

| Main character had it hard. No one except him in the valleyball team. So only he is the "skillful" member in his team (rest seems like his friend who just joined to support him). After losing the game, he challenged the king of the court to defeat him. Hino-san's character was one of the audience then. lol~ he and his rival entered same highschool (can see that both of them are serious about being the strongest in valleyball)! I have gave this a chance to watch live-stream, and now I think I will watch it in raw. |

| One of my favorite anime this season and another really good sports anime. Hinata really stirred up my feelings with his determination to win and never give up. I hope that together with Kageyama they'll form a really strong team that will compete for the Nationals. |

| I haven't read a manga, but I waited for Haikyuu!! with really high expectations. And I'm not disappointed - for me it was 100% perfect! :D I knew it will be great, but I enjoyed every single moment. It may be even anime of the year for me, if it will continue like this. I probably watch first episode million times while waiting for the next ep :D |

| okay..very nice first episode! so Sho is the Kagami Taiga of volleyball huh ? :D both animation and art are pleasant to the eye. gotta love sports anime. first diamond of ace and now this. awesome.and knb s2 just ended which was beyond epic. 5/5 im hyped. great potential. |

| Eh I didn't like it much, idk, maybe it's the art style that's throwing me off but I didn't care much for it, only the ending with his rival being in the same high school piqued my interest, it could get interesting from there on. I don't mind passonate main characters but this guy is a bit too much for me, he's just plain reckless and of course he wants to win but yeah.. a bit too much? Ah well I'll see what happens in episode 2 to see if I'll actually watch it |

| Strongest episode 1 of the season and even having know the material beforehand, it was really thrilling and exciting to make it span this episode. Had to really feel for the country team of amateurs coming to the big tournament to try to give it their all. I loved how they did band around their captain and even recognizing their own lack of abilities felt good enough to want to try to do their best and help him score if not to win. Koji and the other's tears, and then Hinata always saying dont mind and making them not feel bad too. There were lots of nice little touches with king Kageyama, the sometimes robe appearing or jacket moving and everyone giving him that title. And then though grumpy, couldnt ever feel bad since he was truly the kind of serious player on their team and Hinata on the other. They kept the volleyball explanations too, one of the best parts of sports series when they explain stuff in a real and competent manner. |

| Watching HQ is way easier than reading the manga. The manga was kinda boring and really slow to read, so at least the TV show will be better. |

| Beautiful adaption :D Really loved the feel I.G. made for this ep. The Flashbacks + OST combo when Hinata's team was being utterly defeated was so emotional T_T Really!! Poor Hinata. Loved how BA he was esp his last spike. SO FRIGGIN EPIC!!!! The way he just switched sides and spiked the ball so smoothly was amazingly animated >.<! Dem feels when he lost and Tobio told him "What the hell were u doing these last 3 years?!?!" T^T And loved how instead of being High school rivals they're gonna be team mates on the same team. Pretty original idea there ^^ Can't wait to see Hinata and Tobio's combo BAness in the upcoming eps! Me Is Hype! |

| First episode and I already love it As the manga reader, this is really well adapted The character design and the feels remind me of Ookiku Furikabutte which is a good thing in my book and the animation was awesome Very solid start |
| THANK YOU PRODUCTION IG!!! IT was splendid! I really appreciate the quality of Haikyuu!! :') As expeccted frm my fav manga! IT'S SO GOOOD!! All their voices fit the character! YAY, and all the feeling are there! JulietTalyor said: I don't agree, after I have heard Murase Ayumu voice Hinata in the drama CD, I can't imagine any other person who fits Hinata as great as he can. The seiyuu is about the same age as the character after all. I don't think Sho-can voice suits him...Nastu's voice would have been better... I finally have something that can get me out of my bed a sunday morning!! |

| I absolutely loved this first episode of Haikyuu!! Gosh, I haven't been this excited for volleyball, ever! xD I really like Shouyou's determination and cheerfulness. His special ability to jump really high is really awesome. It's also cool how he never gives up even if his team did end up losing. Tobio is of course the rival and he's a badass already. He definitely sees lots of potential in Shouyou. I really liked how this episode ended with them both ending up in the same high school and meeting at the gym. The animation was great, as expected of Production I.G. <3 I love the OP by SPYAIR and the ED by NICO Touches the Walls. :DD It was also really cool to see the 'first person' view shots. :) Can't wait for more HAIKYUU!!! 5/5 |
