| ugh you do realize that windows 7 is basically just a refined version of vista right? ALL the drivers that work under vista will work under 7. none of my games ran slower on 7. in fact, most of them ran faster since it doesn't have 500 other programs in the same partition while i didn't see much new in 7, there are some nice small touches such as task bar grouping and native multi monitor shortcut, not to mention the trimming on resource hogging. my biggest gripe is with the shitty new networking implementation, but that shouldn't be a problem for most people biggest plus for 7 is that it recognized all my hardware on the get go without having to track down the drivers. it's infinitely better than vista's release stage, and even better than vista sp1 even while in its beta stage. many of my parts date back to 2004/2005, and i can tell that this is going to be a major point for general consumers currently, i'm still dual booting build 7000 (in fact, it's still the main on my boot loader, and for some reason it hasn't expired yet), and i have yet to ever need to do a hard reset for any reason while under 7 |

| When I first got my laptop, did an update for Vista and every time I unplugged something it BSoD'd me, in the end Vista fucked itself and couldn't even repair itself, and I had to do a complete System Image Restore. Windows 7 isn't that much faster, but Aero feels like it runs better, and I'm running Professional 64 Bit RTM. If you're having driver issues, wait until the offical release date. Most companies will have 7 specific drivers out by then. |
