This was a lovely episode.
I love that the music hasn't really changed, it suits the series so well and the new OP is great.

Wonderful OP, continued great BGM and the same "feel" as the first season. This is gonna be great! Let's hope we see Tanyuu soon.

Absolutely overjoyed to see Ginko again...and it only took 9 years.

So, basically mushi are tiny, little boozehounds? Funny!

That was simply fantastic.

The OP actually is even better than the first to me and that's saying a lot as I adored the first.

Just another soothing episode and it was still able to keep a great attention-grabbing plot all wrapped in one episode. I even got chills at the end when the guy sits on top of his roof and we see the beautiful scenery along with the OST.

I finished my re-watch marathon just recently but why did I feel so nostalgia upon seeing Ginko? Old friend, welcome back (again).

OP is fantastic but S1's OP holds a special place in my heart. Ahh...I can't wait for next week's episode!

The OP I feel like doesn't really fit, but it gives me "shivers..." :P

Dang the quality is still there, and it's the same Mushishi that I enjoyed and loved. The first episode was a bit slow, but I've prolly forgotten the pace of this anime since it's been awhile since I finished the first season.

My god Mushi-shi where have you been all my life?? Did not skip a beat. OP is out of this world in the same way as the last one, OST is out of this world as usual, and the tone and direction speaks for itself. Only Mushi-shi can take such a dull-seeming story like a brewer's son trying to live out his father's dream, and make it so engaging and interesting.

Love it, keep it comin-and whoa split cour?? I was pretty excited for a 2-cour but I can live with this I suppose. Summer's gonna be torture though.

After 7 years I finally watched the last episode of S1 right before this. (never wanted it to end ^^) Love that Isaza made an appearance here.. it was like a natural continuation of the series. I hope they show more of what Ginko does with him and the other Mushishi. Strange not hearing the sore feet song, but the OP wasn't bad. OST was great- I don't think Masuda Toshio can disappoint. It's hard to believe its been years since the first season.. I'm just so happy Mushishi is back! :D

Well, that kid owe Ginko one :P

I loved that Mushishi meeting. Let us believe how much crazy experience there must be only in that little group.

Ginko is always so chill, love him so much :3

I didn't expected alcoholic mushi in the first episode xD
It was a cute episode that recapitulated a bit of the mushi principle. Great start for another hyped serie :)

I am glad that there is a 2nd series of Mushishi. I love the opening song that is "Shiver" by Lucy Rose. It's is calm and beautiful like the opening song from the 1st series.

This episode was a decent start to the 2nd series. It's nice to see mushishis having gatherings to enjoy themselves considering that the life of a mushishi is hard. I liked seeing mushishis enjoying the finer things in life like sake. The story of the son trying to live out his father's dream was decent.

Hmm I didn't watch the 1st season but they do a good job introducing the world of Mushi-shi for first time viewers like me. As much as I'd like to watch the 1st season first, I don't have the time to do it in such a short time. This anime is well.. not my usual cup of tea but it is very beautiful and despite the slow pace, I didn't feel bored at all.

I don't imagine this is something you can marathon for a few hours though. I'll stick around for a few episodes and see if it can pique my interest to watch the first season.

Still the same story quality and excellent choice of chapter for the first episode, but... a lot of backgrounds were fairly simple and not nearly as detailed as in S1. I hope they fix this in the BD release.
Yeah, I noticed that as well. I thought it might just be my imagination, but I guess not.

It's really a shame because those are an important fectore of immersion into Mushishi's world for me. If they don't fix this I might even have to substract a point... which would only make it 9/10 :D

The best thing I can say about this episode is that it is totally Mushishi. As others have pointed out, it doesn't look like the show took a nine year gap. Some little art issues aside and a song that I guess I'll have to get used to make the difference.

Story-wise, it is solid and fabulistic but not one of my favorites, maybe this is the result of having watched the Mushishi Special a few minutes before and being sort of saturated, but it didn't turn out to be memorable and outstanding in the context of the series. Still, that lesser effort is enough to make a 8.5/9.

Holy crap it has really been nine years?? Put the first episode of the first season next to the second season episode and it's like no time has passed at all. Truly a beautiful work of animation!

I'm not as stocked about the OP song as I was when I first heard The Sore Feet Song (srsly that song feels like flying softly on a freaking cloud) but it fits the kind of feeling Mushishi OST gives off. I was secretly hoping Ally Kerr would sing it again lol

Story wise it's pretty mellow, nothing big or dramatic happens but I think it's a very nice story to start with. First the mellow, easy-going ones, and for the last half the more serious/sad/dramatic stories.

Overall I'm very happy, I haven't looked forward to an anime like this for quite a while.

The best thing about the new OP is the lyrics capture my feelings on the premiere perfectly, "I'll shiver like I used to, just for you". Compared to season one, this isn't even one of the stronger episodes but it was still greatly enjoyable & a fitting opener. And most importantly, it's still Mushishi & it still delivers an experience unlike any other anime I've ever seen.

Very fitting opening episode..
The scene where he gaze at the sky while drunk.

And the music.. Really sets the ambience as usual.
