Indeed, the point is that "seinen genre" does not automatically mean "GrimDark SRSDEEP 2mature4u ultraviolent mega-gorefest." So be careful what you wish for, moe- and slice-of-life-haters

Anime is not just for kids. Teens and adults alike watch anime.
I don't want to sit through 24 minutes of girls sippin' tea and eating cake and talking about ridiculous things.
It's pointless and ultimately a waste of time.
There's tons of these series out there already, I don't see how making anymore of them would bring in cash. If the various studious would just stop and pool in money for one big project with a storyline which was planned from head to toe without any irrelevant fillers, they WILL make it big.
At least these kinds of projects will attract more people to anime.
More people= More budget=Higher Quality products
What's there to lose? Why cling onto something which has passed it prime.

Indeed. The reason why I watch anime is because it's different from the things we get here in the west, there are great things to be had from both sides.
