THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- After rudely awakening Jean and Marie and marching them into the jungle, Nadia announces that she is "reborn" and "will live with nature in the forest," abandoning her friends. Jean, Marie, and King salvage the materials from Nemo's cabin and set up camp, but Nadia steals all their canned food to eat, leaving the three no choice but to go fishing. Not knowing any better, Nadia tries to open the canned food by using her heel, a stone, and finally, in a bizarre case of superstrength, a boulder... only to end up crushing the contents. All this because she must protect the Blue water and wants to survive without technology. Wait a minute, WHAT?! This is where things really start to fall apart in "Nadia." Aside from being needlessly stretched out, the concept is lame and uninteresting, and is hampered by even worse writing. It's also odd that Nadia would start acting like a complete idiot. The previous episodes showed her bonding with her friends, so why does she suddenly abandon and steal from them? The animation is choppy and flat, looking no better than a Hanna-Barbera cartoon, and the goofy attempts at comedy fall short. Granted there were some comic moments in the previous episodes of "Nadia," but none of them were as outrageously inane as in here. There are a few mildly amusing moments, but all in all, this is a boring, uninteresting filler episode. |

Wow, there was a Discworld reference in Jean's dream! (Four elephants riding atop a giant turtle.) Now this episode seems slightly less shitty. |
