In addition to their TV line-up, noitaminA also announced a new Project Itoh movie project and the previously announced Psycho-Pass movie for 2015.

Project Itoh
This movie project will be based off the work of the late Japanese sci-fi novelist, Project Itoh (real name: Satoshi Itou). On March 20, 2009, he passed away after suffering from cancer at 34 years old.

The official website specifically mentions two of Project Itoh's novels, Gyakusatsu Kikan (Genocidal Organ) and Harmony, but does not specify if both will be adapted. Gyakusatsu Kikan is Itoh's debut novel. It received first place in both the Local Best SF 2007 and Local Zero Era SF Best awards. Conversely, Harmony was his final novel. It received the Best Japanese Novel of the Year award at the 40th Sei-un Awards, was the winner of the 30th Nihon SF Taishou Award, and received first place for Best SF of 2009 award.

Gyakusatsu Kikan synopsis
The war on terror exploded, literally, the day Sarajevo was destroyed by a homemade nuclear device. The leading democracies transformed into total surveillance states, and the developing world has drowned under a wave of genocides. The mysterious American John Paul seems to be behind the collapse of the world system, and it's up to intelligence agent Clavis Shepherd to track John Paul across the wreckage of civilizations and to find the true heart of darkness—a genocidal organ. Harmony synopsis
In the future, Utopia has finally been achieved thanks to medical nanotechnology and a powerful ethic of social welfare and mutual consideration. This perfect world isn't that perfect though, and three young girls stand up to totalitarian kindness and super-medicine by attempting suicide via starvation. It doesn't work, but one of the girls—Tuan Kirie—grows up to be a member of the World Health Organization. As a crisis threatens the harmony of the new world, Tuan rediscovers another member of her suicide pact, and together they must help save the planet...from itself. (Source: Viz Media)

I really hope they make both of those novels into movies, they're both UNBELIEVABLY interesting!! I mean.. if they're handled well they might just become some of the best stuff we'll ever see in anime cinema.

AM I HEARING THIS RIGHT?

Holy mumble, real SF novels (not teen SF) adapted to anime? It has been a while...
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

Anything related to Psycho-Pass is a must! Anyway, I was expecting a second season or something earlier than 2015...

The first of Project Itoh's two stories sounds awesome. Even the second one I'd probably watch.

2014 will be an awesome year for anime fans. So glad.

I could be wrong, but 2014 seems to be shaping up to be something akin to a renaissance for some of the more serious genres of anime. A lot to be excited about.

A REAL Sci-Fi novel being adapted is always good, last time this happened was when we got Shinsekai Yori.
I don't know Project Itoh, his novels seemed to garner somewhat mixed reviews but are noted for having rather good world-building. A step in the right direction.

Excited for psycho pass, and project itou sounds interesting as well. Synopsis of both those sound good. IG seem to be the one to watch at the minute, at least for me.
