What did the author actually do???

Personal intro: I’m an old fart, on the wiser side of 65 and found anime and then manga exploring for new art forms and alternative entertainment. Mystery Girlfriend X was the first manga I really got into. I’ve read a bit of the various posts here – obviously not all-- and was somewhat surprised that no one picked up on what I found to be the obvious given. I started off with the anime, then found the manga, and read the goal the author set out to do and just about gagged. I don’t know whether the author is laughing hard at what was pulled off or seriously is satisfied at what was accomplished. As I understand it, the author wanted to create a story line about teenagers without the involvement of sex in the story line. What do we see in the actual anime/manga? We see a male and female sharing body fluids by the stylized insertion of a body part into the orifice of the other, inducing a state of bliss or in some extraordinary cases euphoria. This is done always when they are alone. It’s all a very private affair. It is a bonding process which strengthens the bond between the two the more it is done. This sharing of body fluids is simply not to be done with another member of the opposite sex as it would violate the bond that the two main characters are working to develop.

Once long ago, working in an office environment, we had an older secretary who was a very proper and genteel lady. Every now and then she would make a mistake or do something wrong and we’d hear a loud OH SUGAR! She could not bring herself to actually cuss, but we all understood.

In any other culture or story what Urabe and Tsubaki are engaged in would be called sex. A rose by any other name…. On a more or less daily basis yet. I’m impressed.

This is a nicer way of looking at it on how i did, thanks XD. Although if your not aware there is a fetish in Japan for doing this sort of thing, it shows up in Japanese porn alot especially hentai so you might be giving the author too much credit for his metaphors.
