| This is like TTGL on crack, even though TTGL was made later. It's like the director realized how over-the-top it was and decide to calm himself to make a masterpiece afterwards. The penis drill was just nasty. It was funny in TTGL with the innuendos, but this was just overdone. Also even Panty & Stocking was more smooth than this. And that's saying a lot, considering how vulgar Panty & Stocking was. I guess after some years he's toned it down, which is a good thing. And lol @ how quickly the pregnancy occurred. A show that is deliberately nonsensical is just not my type of thing. You need some bit of realism, and it didn't really cross that line with me. I think it's a bit farfetched to dive anymore into what the "meaning" behind this is. It just seem like the animators had a great fun making this sort of thing. 6/10 |

| That was fun! I love how nothing make sense, just pure craziness. Yamaguchi Kappei is greatness! The last 2 battles were pretty boring though compared to the rest of the series. This show definitely deserved to be in the top 1000 at least. |

| I guess this was the prototype of Panty and Stocking (and Gurren Lagann to some extent), especially that car chase scene at the beginning. Well, this was fine for the most part, but would have liked it more if the pacing was a little slower, and if there weren't so many closeup shots of flashy fight scenes, especially during gun fights, which had like a billion bullet shells flying all over the place. That shit almost gave me a seizure. |
| Couldn't finish it. It's just... gross. Art style is ok, but the plot, and characters, and jokes... kinda reminds me of Panty & Stocking, but the last one was somewhat enjoyable to watch, and Dead Leaves is... just gross. |

| Liked not loved it. Gave it like an 8/10. A really creative movie. But of all Imaishi's work it reminded me the most of Panty and Stocking which is my least favorite. Just really obvious sex jokes, and loud and stupid action. I think this movie had a better plot (marginally) and much cooler animation than P&S. But a lot of the same hang ups dragged it down in my book. |

| The baby was born, grew up as man and died on the same day what a weird fast anime movie. In the end we never found if they were spies or clones or baddies but who cares it was good, even if it was rough around the edges. 7/10 is the verdict. |

| I watched this in high school but I don't think my tiny mind could fully process it xD This was like an hour of Gurren Lagann commercial break eye catches! Or I guess those eye catches are like 5 second frames of Dead Leaves. Excellent work, Imaishi-sensei. Definitely one of my top anime movies of all time for how much hilarious goodness is packed into such a short time. |

| I get it: 'Dead Leaves' is uniquely weird. But the explosively vibrant color palette is eye cancer. The comedy is awful, and the action is absurd for the sake of absurdity. Nothing worthwhile here. |

| Honestly the 45 best animated minutes ive seen in my life. Amazing movie. Loved the story and humor, but by far the best part where the animation and art style. Really fk great. If anyone knows a source where this masterpiece is available in 60 fps full HD let me know. If it doesnt exist,i need it O.o |

| Got to say, though there is basically no plot or characters, the nonsense crazy animation really grabbed me. I think if Dead Leaves tried to add a more understandable story it would only have taken away from the experience of watching Pandy and Retro bounce around from one insane situation to another. This way I can enjoy this insanity for what it is without a "plot" to try and explain the idiocy going on. |

| Fricking awful, just like TTGL and PSG (I dropped the latter after 10 minutes but I doubt it would've gotten better). I don't want to hate any creators but Imaishi is really overstepping the mark. 2/10 |

| This reminded me of some Ralph Bakshi and R. Crumb all rolled up into one fast movie. The style, pace, coloring, music, and story were wonderful! If anyone tells me that anime is cartoons with voice actors on helium ..... I will tell them to watch this one and report back! LOL 8/10 |

| Did Imaishi really just peak on his first directorial work? Hmm I need to check out Panty and Stocking next since it's apparently very similar to this, the last of his work I've yet to see. |
