im there! Using wifi in a small restaurant using the ipod touch browser.pita to type. Town looks cool, beach too. 300 pics and some videos so far. Took 3,5h from kyoto. Still havent found misuzu tho:( she must be hiding somewhere! Its quite deserted here, mostly old ppl and kids who point at us and shout gaikokujin! 0 foreigners here. My friend said we are not sightseeing the town, but rather the town is sightseeing us haha. Everyone stares at us. Bb

You don't even know how much I envy you. Not only are you in Japan (a dream of mine for a long time) but you're at the town that my favorite anime of all time is based off of. Lucky SOB :D

No pico pico dogs :p we found a high school finally and young ppl! visited a few temples etc, but there was no time to check everything, stayed for 4-5 h or so. there were a couple more beaches and some train bridge from the anime that we couldn(t see. the way back was a fucking pita because we missed the last express, had to switcth 4 lines and it took almost 6h to get back to Kyoto.

Anyway, fav. anime also, I want to go back there again! Will do for sure some other time, it was definitely worth it.

I'll post pics and videos thursday when im back in tokyo.

Yes, there were.. but in order to actually hear it, you had to believe in it really hard ;)

Edit: Back from trip btw (yes, I was the quoted companion one mentioned further up >_<), here 2 photos .. coincidence? You judge!

It saddens me that we didn't get to see some of the most common areas of the anime though.. (or maybe they don't really exist?) The place was definitely there though.

We visited mostly the area in red. Those in the blue circles are probably also locations seen in the anime

the left one is where they have that train crossing over an iron bridge

Overview of the zone

I am going back for sure someday, hopefully maybe I can rent a motorbike and go around, and bring my psp with the gps addon.

Too bad the area isn't in high-res in google earth =(
