Kurapika had a Puu charm on his phone
Youpi's shape-shifting reminds me a lot of Elder Toguro
Wouldn't be surprised if the "Territories" from the Chapter Black arc inspired Nen abilities.

Also one of the pages Chrollos flipped in his book had a picture of suzaku on it. Also Genthru looks like elder toguro, Machi looks like botan, Chrollos looks like sensui, and Feitan's like a mix hiei and karasu

Spirit energy resembles a lot to nen.For example, kuwabara is similar to a conjurer, yuske is a emitter and enhancer, and Rinku is a manipulator. Rinku also shares looks and personality to both hisoka, killua, and a little bit of Gon, only in personality tho.
