Kyoto Newspaper reported that a keion (light music) live concert was held at the model school of K-ON! on August 1st. The keion club members of the neighboring high schools played the theme songs of K-ON! in the costumes of the anime.

The model school is the old building of Toyosato elementary school and there are about one hundred visitors a day. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Toyosato town launched an executive committee to develop the local industry taking advantage of the popularity of K-ON!. One of the classrooms of the school has been open to the public as "K-ON! Cafe" and the visitors left notes and drawings on the chalkboard.

Well, so far, the show's impact is still holding. Would be nice if they had some actual live footage of this gig somewhere, am wondering if they also tried mimicking the voices.

And I don't know what I like more, this school building actually being real (despite it being an elementary school) or it becoming some sort of K-ON! shrine for the fans to flock to.

Too bad "Mio" is right-handed here, but it's the thought that counts. At least they tried.
