My profile has the long version. The quick and dirty of it is that my friend Mike told me about Sailor Moon on Fox when I was in the 6th grade (1996), got more into anime around 2000-2001 when Outlaw Star was on Toonami and it just escalated like crazy between then and now. |

I would wake up and eat breakfast before going to school in eighth grade and always caught the end of Zoids: Chaotic Century episodes. So I woke up earlier to catch the entire episode. Inuyasha and DBZ soon followed. I actually have a letter I wrote to my future self for school that says I hope that I still like Zoids and DBZ when I read it in senior year. Ah, I was such a little noob. |

Janaa said: Well, when I was little I started watching kids shows like Sailor Moon, Pokemon and Cardcaptors. I used to own little toys and everything, but that was before I knew what it was. This. + Digimon and Dragonball. A couple years ago I kind of felt like watching Sailor Moon again, so I did and after watching all the episodes and movies, I thought, what's next? and watched more. |

What do the people in the Air Force think about it? "In the Beginning, the creative energy radiates from within." - No, no. That's Lame. Sounds like something out of a Jodorowsky comic. The Tokusyu Manga Club - Features alternative comics/avant-garde comics/outsider comics/psychdelic comics/surrealistic comics/underground comics + La Nouvelle Manga (part of Alternative). If I'm here, its because I have nothing better to do. |

What do the people in the Air Force think about it? I've had a few weird comments at work when people would hear me listening to anime music on my computer or hear me mentioning that I watch anime, but not as many as you would think. I've only gotten one, "Isn't that cartoon porn??" comment since I've been here. Five people at work are actually at least casual anime fans. One of them I helped create (got her hooked on FMA, Bleach, and NANA among other things). I even, as stated in my profile, ran a weekly anime screening for a little while. Had to end it a little earlier than expected because military has weird schedules that change often and people get moved and such. Ran one too many screenings without anyone showing up so I killed it. It was a good experience though. |

Well, it actually started with Digimon and Dragonball Z around 2001, but back then I didn't really know what anime was. So the first time when I began to watch anime consciously was when a friend of mine showed me some episodes of Naruto in 2005. I began to really like it and I remembered the fun I had when I watched DBZ back in 2001. So I began to actually recognize anime for the first time, watched a few episodes of DBZ angain and became nostalgic because it still entertained me quite as much as four/five years before. So I wanted more, and I searched for an interesting series - and discovered Evangelion. That was in early 2007 - and then I became ultimately hooked on anime and I don't think it will stop for the next couple of years. |
