It made top 100 anime, so how did people get their hands on this series? The only thing I found were two episodes with arabic dub.

No doubt those that have seen it can either speak Japanese, or they got their hands on some DVDs or something that had English subtitles included.

Unfortunately no English groups have gone near it. Let's hope some do, since I'm eager to check this out as well.

I just hope someone will notice that it's becoming popular and sub it or rip it from a dvd or something.

I haven't watched this myself, but I heard this anime was extremely popular in Greece years ago and just there, with it's Greek dub and it's some sort of cultural phenomenon nowadays, with people citing lines from the dubbed anime as jokes, etc.

Edit: I was right, taking a look at the 10 raters, there are several people from Greece, but I didn't know it was also quite popular in Kuwait.

Definitely doesn't look like anybody is trolling this up with dupe accounts. All accounts seem pretty unique. Must be a good anime then...probably.

I'm pretty sure somebody will translate this to english, if only they had the RAW. Looking it up on ebay and google shopping, nothing pops up.\

EDIT: Apparently, the only rips I've seen are from vhs -_- This anime is too old to be in high quality.

I do not think people are trolling it for high ratings just by basis of it being high up on ANN too, making top 100 there with only like 73 ratings or something. I am in the same group of people wanting to see it with no ability to do so, though!

Kabamaru is one of the few anime that was fully dubbed in greece during the 80s-90s and there isn't a single person in my age that does not know it and that is why it was so popular.Of course whoever hasn't seen it should watch it if possible, although the result might be a little dissapointing imo cause there are tons of other better anime out there.Greeks are just so into this anime because t reminds us of our childhood not to mention the fact that the dubbing was sometimes so off that was absolutely hilarious.

If you search for 伊賀野カバ丸 on Isohunt you can find a raw, but it has no seeds. There might be raws floating around japanese websites, if any fansubbers are reading this. Anyone know of a fansub group willing to sub this kind of thing?

Ika no Kabamaru is extremely popular at Greece. Its one of the few anime (along with Sailor-Moon and Dragon ball) that got fully dubbed at greek. Although is mostly of a regional phenomenon i can guarantee thats IT IS a good show and even now after so many years (anime aired at 1983 at Japan and 1995 at Greece)you wouldnt get bored of it. It has everything. Comedy/action/romace/drama/twist. I just love this anime :3
