I'm afraid I was very disappointed in the first episode.
The art, the characters, the comedy, it all seemed... off compared to the first season. The first season was charminly funny, this episode was just... flat. Unless things change for the better quickly, I'm not sure if I will even continue watching this season. Sigh.
kasumisama said: I miss season 1. The comic timing isn't as good this time around and the new art kinda bothers me. Not bad overall, but not EPIC LULZ. Of course, I will still keep watching it and hope it picks up a bit. The first season wasn't so hot the first few eps either.
Yeah, it took 3 episodes for me to really get into Season 1. And this first episode of Okawari was really iffy all over the place with little inconsistencies that bothered me. I really don't have the time to be watching a lot of Winter Season Anime (this is my 3rd one, Shigofumi will be the 4th and final one once I find time to start it) so if this doesn't improve by Episode 4, I'll most likely be dropping this.
ayako released theirs!(i was about to watch the GSS subs but i suddenly saw ayakos and got that XD
touma was cute, and i think im the only one who's not disturbed by that wiggling ahoge and found it cute. it seems it hasb een a while since i watched the last episode and i didnt notice the color change in chiaki's hair...and to think she's my favorite of the 3 sisters XD
I can see how so many people dislike it but the first episode was just as good/bad as the first episode of the first season. If this series was aired first (Ignoring how the characters are introduced) then a lot more people would have liked it. The animation quality may be lower but there are many worse anime out there.
Overall I enjoyed this episode quite a lot. 7/10 using the Zarin scale, 9/10 if you don't understand the Zarin scale.
It seems to be starting out just as good as the first season, though I am not sure why they deemed it necessary to tweak the art and color scheme of the series. But oh well, so long as it remains as entertaining.
I actually thought it was more funny than the last few episodes of the first season. Makoto and Touma trying to figure out how to get into the sauna and Fugioka walking in on a very naked Kana were priceless. I also think the animation is improved, even though it was wierd at first. Otherwise, it still feels very much like Minami-ke. If the reason why this shows score is so low is because of the different animation, then i'm calling bullshit.
What happened to my Minami-ke!? I did not like the OP or ED. My biggest complaint is the animation; the colors are all wrong! The fanservice was also unexpected. I didn't mind it too much, but I just hope they don't use it too often like they did in this episode.
I will continue with the series only because the most important thing was still there, Minami-ke's humor. The confusion at the onsen was funny; however, the rest of the episode lacked in the humor. I'm hoping this may just have been a bad start.
I didn't even know they switched studios until I read the thread. I knew there was something wrong with chiaki's hair. There was something off with all the chracters in general (except for maybe Mako-chan).
They added a kitchen? I thought the kitchen was tiny...
I enjoyed the first episode but the different animation I didn't think was a cute but it was still an pretty good episode. I have to say the first opening was better than this one, but this episode was pretty funny.
Trie said: I actually liked the animation of the first Minami-ke series better than this one, it seems like the facial expressions in this one are a lot less detailed.
Anyways this episode wasn't as funny as I was hoping but the scene where Fujioka gets mixed up with the baths was pretty funny.
This was exactly what I was gonna say. I never noticed the hair style that Chiaki had in the first series, but I don't like the one in this series (how it's blonde then purple-ish at the ends)
I like the OP and ED just as well as the old ones, they're both amazing imo. This just looks way cooler, but the other OP fitted in better imo. The new art style is a lot more modern, but the faces just look off now, perhaps it's something that I'll get used to in a while.
I almost never read discussions after I made my post, if you want to reply PM me or post on my profile page.
