It slipped me before, but AD Police is from '90. Oh yeah, add Mahou Tenshi Mami and it's related anime (it's magical girl anime from the eighties). http://myanimelist.net/anime/2044/Mahou_no_Tenshi_Creamy_Mami http://myanimelist.net/anime/2045/Mahou_no_Tenshi_Creamy_Mami:_Eien_no_Once_More http://myanimelist.net/anime/2046/Mahou_no_Tenshi_Creamy_Mami:_Long_Goodbye http://myanimelist.net/anime/5246/Adesugata_no_Mahou_Sannin_Musume http://myanimelist.net/anime/4126/Mahou_no_Tenshi_Creamy_Mami:_Lovely_Serenade http://myanimelist.net/anime/2080/Majokko_Club_Yoningumi_-_A_Kuukan_Kara_no_Alien_X (aired in '87) Modified by RobdeFR, 10-04-09, 7:05 AM |

I made a thread detailing why AD Police Files is including. It's an Honorary 80's Anime. If you want me to add anything that wasn't released in the 80's, make a thread about it and explain why it should be included. |

No mention of Gunbuster? Came out in '88/'89 and may be Gainax's best work. |

Does it have to be anime in order to be "honorary 80s anime"?:) Transformers the Movie (1986 animated one, not the Michael Bay film) is not really anime since the director, writers, producers etc. are American, but it was created based on Japanese toys, did have actual anime spin offs (The Japanese did their own follow up to season 3 of the US animated series, which the movie was a part of) Plus if you look at it, the design and animation style of the 1986 movie looks EXACTLY how high quality sci-fi/mecha anime from the 80s looked, and looks nothing like any american animation. The kind of detail shown on some of the ships and whatnot are far closer to Macross:DYRL or Zeta Gundam tha anything produced in the US. (The opening scene with Unicron is probably the best example). |

I finished yesterday one of the greatest epic episodes I have ever watched. I speak of Animated Classics of Japanese Literature http://myanimelist.net/forum/?animeid=4723 A russian fansub released three random episodes ripped from a US DVD recently. Just watch episode 25 and 26, if you're into World Masterpiece kind of anime, you'll absolutely love these ones. I watched it last night and I'm still moved by it. |

http://myanimelist.net/anime/2058/Delpower_X_Bakuhatsu_Miracle_Genki! http://myanimelist.net/anime/2103/TO-Y http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=2690 http://myanimelist.net/anime/1973/X_Densha_de_Ikou All 80s and have engsubs. "X Densha" is actually good, I liked it. Rest is kinda average but in positive way, rather good for a one-time watch. [Old School Anime Club] |

Oh, I have actually watched those titles and forgot to add them to my list also, except TO-Y. Especially Take the X Train, how could I have forgotten that one. How is TO-Y, haven't heard anything about that one. |

RobdeFR said: I feel one could like it if had a thing for music animes(or animes about music/musicians). I personally thought it was a bit boring. The plot and characters are not particularly interesting. The music and general atmosphere is nice. What I remember vividly is this androgynous "catgirl" friend of the protagonist. Very mysterious and strange character that is. And quite funny. The rest has faded a bit)How is TO-Y, haven't heard anything about that one. [Old School Anime Club] |

Ah damn, there aren't seeds anymore. The torrent was released by the same guys that released Bobbys in Deep and Urban Square in the beginning of the year. The thing was that I didn't had an internet connection during that time so I missed To-Y and BB Fish too. Well, I hope they re-upload the files some day. Being an old school anime fan is hard, either you download the files at the time of their release or you don't download them at all. by the way. Ardeur, are you a member of anime-classic? |

even when not super80's, The Robinson Family was aired in 1981. I fell in love with the OP and ED for this anime. the voice is so heartwarming that makes me all melancholic inside, remembering that these kind of OPs are not made anymore ;_; http://myanimelist.net/anime/2544/Kazoku_Robinson_Hyouryuuki:_Fushigi_na_Shima_no_Flone |
