According to Dengeki Online, a recap movie of Higashi no Eden titled "Higashi no Eden Soushuu Hen Air Communication" was announced to be premiered on September 26th. Director Kamiya Kenji re-organized the TV series and the members of "Higashi no Eden" look back at the eight day adventure. The insights of Pantsu will help the audiences to discover the new secrets of the series.

I really, really wish the industry would wisen the fuck up and stop doing this shit. Recaps are incredibly retarded and nobody wants them; why do they keep making them? "This franchise was successful, let's rehash it and try to make more money instead of doing something original!"

I can see it kind of working for old series, do a rehash movie summarising the story numerous years later in HD and all, but not for something that only just recently ended and already meets modern animation standards.

Really, how hard is it to just do an extra story or something at least? Some prequel or side story or little semi sequel story, it doesn't have to be canon if they just want to cash in, but just please don't regurgitate the same old crap. It's stupid.

so does that mean that the movie that was previously announced is now a recap? or is this like in addition to the movies that were already announced.

What happened in Higashi no Eden again?
Oh gosh, I completely forgot, but I don't want to rewatch the entire anime series again. If only there was a condensed version of Eden, say like only a hour to an hour and half long, that could remind me what occurred.

So, we've already got two movies to finish the actual story, and now they're adding a recap to the list? Ugh. Anime really needs to grow out of this trend. FAST.

While I'm sure very few will bother with the recap, I don't see how this will "fuk things" up for the anime. A well made series will stay a well made series, regardless of how they try to market it after.

I don't see any problem here. It's a stupid move but considering the fans and market at Japan, I would guess it can still rack in profits.

We ain't gonna lose anything if they make this UNLESS this recap movie will be taking over one of the original intended two movies...which is not the case.Though I will be flaming later on if they do.

I for one don't mind this at all. Hope that despite the general 'ew, recap' reactions, a good group will sub this if it's released as good quality raw.

Don't mix this up with the first of the 2 movies that are already announced.
