I second joe4evr's comment on Hayate no Gotoku!!. I guess it's pretty hard to differentiate, since the only difference in the title is an extra exclamation mark. One thing to note though, MALu detected the folders correctly. Season one folder on my drive is called "Hayate no Gotoku!" and season two is "Hayate no Gotoku!!", and the File/Folder Tools detected the correct folder/anime assignment, it's just the individual episode detection. File name for season one is: [SS-Eclipse] Hayate no Gotoku! - 09 (1280x720 h264) [0650EB95].mkv File name for season two is: [SS-Eclipse] Hayate no Gotoku - 2nd Season - 10 (1280x720 h264) [C375749E] ![]() ![]() Proud user of Maxthon since the days of MyIE2, long before Firefox was even a twinkle in Netscape's eye. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ![]() No, not really... |

Joe4evr said: I did an episode scan so Malu could show which episodes I have 'In disk'. It says that I have 13 epsodes of Suzumiya Haruhi (2009), which are actually only 9 and that I also have 25 episodes of Hayate no Gotoku!!, of which I don't have any. In both cases it fails to differentiate the second from the first seasons, which are named too similar. Can this be fixed? It also doesn't recognize the eps of Kanazuki no Miko and Tales of Symphonia that I do have. What scan method for hayate? the limited one should detect them correctly |

Kotori said: frosty5689 said: It doesn't seem to recongnize any RMVB container files, is it possible to make it recongnize them? Since most Chinese subs use RMVB container. Their naming scheme is super similar to English so there's not a lot of problems there. rmvb is supported. post the filenames that fail. I posted it earlier too but then I looked back at the thread. Basically, this is the deal. The Chinese uses [NAME][Ep#] in their releases. MALu treats it as a single name and therefore cannot recognise. For example: [DMHY][Zan_Sayonara_Zetsubou_Sensei][07][GB][RV10][848x480] - cannot recognise. However, if I rename to [DMHY]_Zan_Sayonara_Zetsubou_Sensei_07_[GB][RV10][848x480] - then everything is fine. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying that I have to rename everytime I want to watch an ep. Lol. Also took me like 2 months to realise it. D: Modified by infinite_zero, 08-18-09, 10:36 PM |

Ok, this is pretty weird. Finally decided to clean my old HDD from some not that very original anime by using malu to recognize them and play episode 1 to figure out what can be safely deleted. But then, the following recog problem happened: Girls Bravo second season episode 1-13 is recognized, but if I hit the play, or play next button, I will get a random series to play, for example kino's adventure same episode, or Yamamoto Nadeshiko (the wallflower), same episode. Both are not anywhere near that anime, in terms of list position, naming or genre. Files in Detail: [Exiled-Destiny]_Girls_Bravo_Ep01v3_[R2_Video]_(94D81F22).mkv ... [Exiled-Destiny]_Girls_Bravo_Ep11v3_[R2_Video]_(2CE4B6A9).mkv // last of season 1 [Exiled-Destiny]_Girls_Bravo_Ep12v2_(6F25CE7D).mkv // first of season 2 ... [Exiled-Destiny]_Girls_Bravo_Ep24_(34AD3D38).mkv // last of season 2 and instead of the episode from season 2 of girls bravo it was played: Arigatou.Yamato.Nadeshiko.Shichi.Henge.(The.Wallflower).Ep01.[x264.AAC][555AB183].mkv or Arigatou.Kino.no.Tabi.Ep01.[x264.AAC][555ED303].mkv Only happens with files which got identical episode number to the girls bravo season 2 episode number, and by overservation only the groupname.animename (every word seperated by dots) files are used instead of the season 2 files. In the logic of continueing, starting with the next episode number for a new season makes as much sense as "resetting" the episode counter to 1 but adding "season 2" to the naming. I thought malu would either be clever enough to make both options valid or complain about it, because episodes are "out of range". But random playing, that sounds more like a stack overflow. I know my explanation sucks big time, sorry for the mess, but I couldn't think of a better one. Modified by Konzure, 08-23-09, 6:41 PM |

I fixed that bug with playnext a few versions ago. 2nd season as the next episode: malu has no data about sequels, mal doesn't provide it in the anime list. |

I'm using V2.55, should be the latest. Playnext usually works better then before (this is the first time after some updates that I actually got a problem with the recon/play combo). I know it's a rather rare case, hopefully someone can reproduce the problem. For example, now it plays Kurau phantom memory ep4 from arigatou instead of girls bravo season 2 ep 4. It's rather confusing, there is even a tooltip that the episode is higher then the previous one (whis is correct on the Kurau part, not the girls bravo S2 part - at least for the moment). edit: Even more weird. I already have posted it in this thread, but all mentioned (naming style arigatou) animes are only recognized by file number, I can't actually play any of the episoded with the play or play next button, unless I try to play girls bravo s2 ep x, then it more or less randomly picks 1 show per episode from the pool of the stack of not fully recognized anime shows. Only 1 player selected, strict scan every 60 minutes. Works fine for other shows. Also please see my edit on the post above. |

Can't reproduce this issue. Tried renaming my girls bravo S2 ep1 to: Arigatou.Yamato.Nadeshiko.Shichi.Henge.(The.Wallflower).Ep01.[x264.AAC][555AB183].mkv and Arigatou.Kino.no.Tabi.Ep01.[x264.AAC][555ED303].mkv Then told malu to play 1st ep of s2, it didn't find anything. Tried also with "[Exiled-Destiny]_Girls_Bravo_Ep12v2_(6F25CE7D).mkv", nothing. |

I'm having issues with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood that are named with 2009 instead of the Brotherhood name. So yeah basically: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood being recognized as Fullmetal Alchemist Filenames are as follows: [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_02v2_[H.264.AAC][7B2C5E8B] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_03_[H.264.AAC][3ACFB6F2] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_04_[H.264.AAC][BDC5AADE] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_05v3_[H.264.AAC][4BEB4534] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_06_[H.264.AAC][FB6104D1] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_07_[H.264.AAC][397A6D3F] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_08_[H.264.AAC][2EAFBAD0] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_09_[H.264.AAC][CDD71F4D] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_10_[H.264.AAC][2D612135] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_11_[H.264.AAC][6D15E48E] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_12_[H.264.AAC][827B3A7B] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_13_[H.264.AAC][9865694C] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_14_[H.264.AAC][2BAFB1FB] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_15_[H.264.AAC][0272A0CD] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_16_[H.264.AAC][6115A868] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_17_[H.264.AAC][DCE96A5A] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_18_[H.264.AAC][5837A2F4] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_19_[H.264.AAC][B369A5B0] [AKH-SWE]_Fullmetal_Alchemist_(2009)_20_[H.264.AAC][F1CBEC83] |

Tried also with "[Exiled-Destiny]_Girls_Bravo_Ep12v2_(6F25CE7D).mkv", nothing. Well, I click on the GB S2 entry, use play # xx and popping up is one of the mentioned series, first on the player, then on the anime info window and finally highlighted in the list. #01 result: Arigatou.Kurau.Phantom.Memory.Ep01.[x264.AAC][9C646540].mkv #02 result: Arigatou.Kino.no.Tabi.Ep02.[x264.AAC][555ED303].mkv #03 result: Arigatou.Kurau.Phantom.Memory.Ep03.[x264.AAC][54E6EA74].mkv #04 result: Arigatou.Kino.no.Tabi.Ep04.[x264.AAC][9482D3E7].mkv #05 result: Arigatou.Yamato.Nadeshiko.Shichi.Henge.(The.Wallflower).Ep05.[x264.AAC][8FDDA591].mkv #06 resutl: [AniYoshi]_Guin_Saga_-_06_[08C46A00].mkv ... By second observation it tries to play an episode from a directory which doesn't have a single girls bravo episode stored in it. (Not even the same HDD). Even after specify the exact directory (usually I only setup my root dirs) on the playnext setup window (see below), it still continues to play the same files instead of the girls bravo s2 files. All results are made after the newest patch. If I open the settings and look for the anme folder settings, girls bravo is still pointed to my recent anime folder, not my backup/archive folder and not to my old HDD even though I have tripple checked that that root dir and the exact bravo dir is in the settings. Under Settings->PlayNext->"Anime->Folder Settings" it always shows the wrong directory, and neither updates by strict or full scan is going to change that. Now I retried, by deleting GB S2 entry via malu, readd it with malu. No new episodes showing (strict scan), but it STILL plays the other animes like before - even without showing up entries???. After a full scan it finds 13 episodes, but still plays the ones above. Finally I manually setup the directory with rightclick on the entry, and it plays girls bravo, but the first season. LOL. So one step forward, one to go: #1 result [Exiled-Destiny]_Girls_Bravo_Ep01v3_[R2_Video]_(94D81F22).mkv instead of [Exiled-Destiny]_Girls_Bravo_Ep12v2_(6F25CE7D).mkv. As you can see, the problem now lies on the naming system. Since there is no "season 2 or 2" in the filename, it chooses the first ep instead of the first ep (that would be ep 12v2) of the second season. As long as a renaming or putting them in different dir's fix the problem, I can deal with it. What I don't get is why my malu fails to setup the right directory automatically in the first place. Still it would be neat to have malu identify a second season if the total number of episodes equals the total sum of the 2 seasons. Some animes have long names and usually have a different title instead of season x in their name, so it can be confusing by people who don't know which title/season comes first. That was a bumpy ride... .. and finally I can delete some anime xD Thanks for your patience in that case, hope you can improve the recognize engine by killing that weird bug. Another thought about the not playable group.filename recog problem: I asume that your code checks 2 options: [GS] = [Group of seperators] [a-0] =[String of chars form the table a-z; A-Z; 0-9] 1st.: [GS][a-0]=groupname[GS][a-0 (#1)][GS][a-0 (#2)[GS]... The code will ignore the first string of [a-0] and then try to match the following strings with the ones in the database. 2nd.: [GS][a-0 (#1)][GS][a-0 (#2)[GS]... The code will not ignore the first string, since it might be not a groupname If you include the 3rd option: 3rd.: [a-0 =groupname][GS][a-0 (#1)][GS][a-0 (#2)[GS]... you can cover up all that files, which are failing to be fully recognized because the line doesn't begin with a group of seperators doesn't actually mean that the first string is not a groupname which would need to be ignored. Especially if the groupname might actually be part of another animen name in the database... For example: Arigatou.Kurau.Phantom.Memory.Ep01.[x264.AAC][9C646540].mkv Arigatou.Kino.no.Tabi.Ep02.[x264.AAC][555ED303].mkv Arigatou.Kurau.Phantom.Memory.Ep03.[x264.AAC][54E6EA74].mkv ... edit: It's not that hard to rename that files, but it would improve the recognize abilities if there is a 3rd option concidered if the scan doesn't come up with a single result. At least on my end playnext works 100% on all files recognized by strict scan method, but it apears to not work at all for files only be recognized by full scan method.
