Hey,
I'm lookin' for some nice yaoi or shounen-ai.

With bishie highschooler boys or up (about 15-28?).
Something like Uraboku, Only the Ring Finger Knows, Sleeper .

I prefer reversi couples, or uke-has-spunk like Kamijou or crazy-charas like Wolfie.(okay actually he's not in a yaoi relationship >.<)

I do not like sensei-student, shota, and incest.
For genre I doesn't really matter I like a lot of kinds. But prefer comedy, mystical, slice-of-life.

Uhm, seems like I need more tags for these cases!, right now I can remember Seven Days, it's a shounen-ai, the translation is ongoing and it's certainly lovely, the characters are not girly...I wouldn't know if they are reversi but that would be a possibility..the thing is I don't know yet if we are going to see some action, since MAL has a yaoi tag on it, probably not.

Kanjou Spectrum is more like a tribute to Yoneda Kou from me XD, it's very short, but it has a high school setting and I really thing is nice, shounen-ai too.

Rooftop Scenery, another shounen-ai, could be what you look for too.

Okujou no Bai-Bai, lovely art..and nice story, shounen-ai too. Hmm I am suggesting these because you are asking for a particular feeling, I haven't read those mangas you said but I can sort of imagine what you mean.

Oh, finally remembered a yaoi!, Rush!, this is a problematic uke! the fighter type.

I mentioned Desire, Breakfast Club and Tenohira no Seiza already. Even if you don't like incest normally, in tenohira I think it's served in a rather light dose - I mean cousins are usually even allowed to marry and the plot wouldn't have been that much different if the other guy had been the son of family friends or a boarder living in the same house.

Other ideas would be
  • Koi wa ina mono mouna mono - a comedy about a highschool boy who has had a foretelling dream of himself having sex with a guy and then meets same guy at school - nothing that's up for the Pulitzer Prize, but a nice light-hearted story with highschool setting and an entertaining read for those times when you can't stomach any dramas
  • Little Butterfly - highschool story with some amount of drama, the uke is a bit girlyy, but the story is still good and the characters have depth
  • U don't know me- is a manhwa with highschool setting, it's a bit more slice of life rather but I really liked it

I'll try to think of more later.

Help! I am looking for something which I expect to be rare, so I thought I oughto to use this thread here.

Does anyone know of any STEAMPUNK YAOI (or shouen ai) MANGA?

I only know of one book, so slash fiction no manga and haven't even read that yet (but I hope to soon).

I'd really like to read a manga with steam punk and a male-only romance. Can anyone help?

Well geisha, that is quite a rare genre indeed, you had me in a trance for a second there, digging the meaning of the word steampunk in my vocabulary. I'll recommend the works of Dany and Dany but I'm not sure that's what your exactly looking for since I'm not that familiar with steampunk, apologize for my 14 yr old ignorance. Try Anima, I think that's steampunk.. >-<

I have read ".i.d.o.l." by Dany & Dany which doesn't fit the steam punk requirements, but the Anima synopsis does indeed allow some hope. I've already ordered it. I didn't really like idol, it was one of these cases where I saw potential for both the story and the art, but wasn't quite there, but I will give them another chance.

Erh????
No! I ordered it from an online bookstore. It was the other manga from same artist-duo "Idol", that I didn't like (well, as I said, it had potential but ...). I've ordered it but have to wait for my copy to arrive by snailmail import, so that might take two or three weeks... I'll tell you afterwards, what I think about it, but no matter what, it does look like steampunk so of course I'm going to try it out.

@chero: I've read "ANIMA" today,so I thought I let you know about it. It is Steampunk .... to some degree at least. Futuristic setting with what non-victorian people may perceive as victiorian aesthetics, clothes. The "steam"-element was underrepresented in my opinion. A good steampunk should have a lot of glossy bras-machines that do a lot of ooomph and have steam coming out of somewhere. They have instead androids here which seems a bit wrong for steampunk, but well, let's say it's close. It was okay, btw, I'm not too sure about the art - not that it's awful, but rather a bit too much to handle, but the plot was good.
Thanks for recommending this!

If anyone can think of any more steampunk yaoi ... let me know please!

The first thing that comes to mind is Litchi Hikari Club. Foremost, it's just kinda fucked up (not in a poorly written way, but just a bit odd/shocking). Secondarily, there are relationships inbetween the boys. Pretty interesting at least. Anonymous tends to like these things, so take a look. And watch for Sweet Pool.

Well, I am not into bloody stuff but I got curious, what is this ero-guro thing? I mean, erotic and bloody in what way? I want to know but I don't want to look at some disturbing images without knowing what to expect XD.

It tends to have dark, odd, and grotesque imagery. For manga, it tends to specifically mean a sexualized version of this.. much more common in hentai than BL. It's out there though--the game Togainu no Chi has some eroguro content. Enzai too... more common in hardcore games. You'd have to see it I guess to see how it's erotic and bloody at the same time. If having someone's bloody intestines stringed out like a rope bothers you, I'd avoid. :3 I'm very squeamish, but the stuff above doesn't bother me since it.. well doesn't look real. I hate violent movies though.. gross.

Shintaro Kago is probably one of the more well known artists in this general area, but I honestly don't really follow it.

Oh...wow, I wouldn't like to see intestines but you are right about not feeling it real. I have seen movies like saw and, oddly enough, they make me laugh, probably because it is a movie so the thrill is different to what I feel when I see, for example, a car accident.
Quite different actually..Now that you say about Togainu, I haven't played the game but I guess that they try to make those things look sexy? it is weird, but somehow I can see how it works on some levels.

Off to read some twisted things then! if I don't like what I see I just drop it and continue watching Nodame which is so beautiful and cute that it would erase any eerie feeling.

i love the manga Viewfinder! by yamane ayano, do you know of any manga which are similar?
i prefer if the uke to similar to the seme, not too girly! (perfect example is Asami and Takaba from Viewfinder)
any suggestions of good manga would be great....but not a relationship within school (unless one is in school, the other not) or incest.

arrigato =)

Sweet Pool just started in its Japanese publication, so that's why I said watch for it. It will probably be a while before it's available in English in any form.

Litchi Hikari Club turned out pretty cool.. I was sad at the end.

Well I would please like help in finding this type of yaoi:

*The Seme been a nice guy (especially to his uke) have short (but not super short!) blonde hair (or at least look light in the panels), preffer him to be shorter than the Uke but the same height is fine too.
*The Uke been older (40-ish at max) than the Seme and with the same height of hair than the Seme but hair color darker (black and dark brown preffered) also taller than the Seme but as I said earlier, both at the same height is good too!
Also the Uke has to have at least one of these personalities: tsundere/grumpy/jaded/serious.

I already readed and loved Turning Point: http://myanimelist.net/manga/12236/Turning_Point

And finaly as for genre, I don't care what as long as it has some comedy tho I like to avoid school setting ones, but is ok to recomend if you can't think of anything more. Rating I don't care but preffer PG-13 and upper.
Thanks in advance and my apologies for the text walls but I really want to read said type of yaoi and I tried to described as much as I can. :)
