I agree wholeheartedly, but the whole "sweaty nerd-shaped sacks of money with little to do with your time other than watch their anime and potentially buy their shit" isn't exactly true for all of us. LOL.

I would agree but this is clearly basically filler just so KyoAni can catch up on other projects. ever notice how many anime series have crappy episodes full of recaps and old clips? thats what those are too. this is just the way the anime industry is. I am sure haruhi will be fine after they are done with this.

All, I have to say is that it's far more annoying to have to put up with all this whining than it is to watch Endless Eight. I bet by the time Disappearance starts most of you will have forgotten this.

I'm just waiting for the god damn thing to finish so I can marathon it...

The only thing being reused is the audio track, and even that has had some minor differences from week to week. But as they have confirmed that the EE audio recording is over a few weeks back, it does mean it will probs end soon.

Everything else is entirely new animation. Granted, the backgrounds may be reused from time to time, but the fact that camera angles are changed regularly, along with clothing, the order of the sequences and the filters, it is obviously being redrawn over and over.

So no, they are not doing this as filler to make it easier for them to do other series, they are purposefully putting lots of effort into pissing us off with high quality animation.

To those who are rating as 1s and dropping immediately: Stop whining so much, yes it is annoying, but all you have to do is skip (all but 30 seconds of) the damn episodes. Just pretend that endless eight is only 2 or 3 episodes and skip the rest. Rate it down a point or three, but a 1 is excessive (save 1s for stuff that's really bad, like Mars of Destruction).

To those who are saying that endless eight is awesome and/or not filler: Stop being such huge Haruhi fanboys. It's the same episode 8(+) times in a row - so what if it's animated differently each time. Don't condone this horrible abuse of the great story/characters of MoHS.

To those out there saying it's stupid to rate this series a 1, consider this:

1 = Unwatchable, according to MAL's ranking system. If you find yourself skimming through the episode or only watching 30 seconds or so of the material, what else do you call that besides UNWATCHABLE? You're not watching it, because you can't bring yourself to sit through the whole thing. That, good sirs and madams, deserves a 1. I believe it is justified, and not only a way of showing our distaste.. It's genuinely a fair rating. Which is sad because so many fans enjoy the books and the stories that the other (good) content brings to the Haruhi franchise. Unfortunately, this "second season" seems to be a write-off.

So don't vote it a 1 because of rage alone, do it because it really does deserve it. And it does, at least, a lot of us believe it does.

And one more thing, yeah, I know the "season" isn't technically done, but I doubt that even with a completed season this will get anything higher than a 3 for most people. I don't know about the rest of you, but even if the last couple of episodes turn out to be masterpieces, I rate an anime based on the OVERALL content, not just a very small portion of it. Which means in that case my rating would most likely go up, but since Endless Eight comprises the majority of this "season", there's not a lot of room to go up. Most I would give this is a 3. Maybe.

I know some rate it 1's out of anger (I did, I confess, read my review), but now that 1 I initially gave it, I believe, really is justified. Regardless of rage.

Protip: the structure can give you the barest hint of what Yuki's going through, should you choose to use it that way (and should you choose to accept KyoAni's insinuation that she has human emotion at all outside of Disappearance's alternate universe).

Still, if you consider it a waste of time, it doesn't really matter how "meaningful" or whatever it might be, and I can't blame those people who dropped it. I know a lot of people who don't like being dragged around by structure. Personally I think it's funny as all hell just for being such an epic troll maneuver.

Just because I have a different opinion on what can be considered good doesn't mean i am a huge haruhi fanboy, the first season is my 9th favorite show so its not like i am obsessed with the show or anything, I just see what is good about the arc. You sound like more of a fanboy because you think that this is "abuse" to the show.

Absolutely right, I'm not a huge fan of Haruhi either but I still think it's pretty good. The one who complain the most are usually the real fanboy of Haruhi.
