Reactions about the 2 OVAs of CLANNAD..

I enjoyed Tomoyo's a lot more, Kyou's would've been better if they expanded upon it more (it should have been longer than it was).

Tomoyo's OVA was fantastic, but Kyou was one of my favorite characters. As of now, I guess i'll go with Tomoyo. But, Kyou's story is a fine example of how to do a love triangle RIGHT.

I wish both had more than one episode, though. Especially Kyou's.

its great. i mean, kyou... well, im not really that surprised though cause i completed the visual novel already.
in tomoyo's route, that's why i really made some waterworks, haha... even though i know what's going to happen already, its great.

I enjoyed both OVAs a lot. I love Kyou but story-wise, the Tomoyo story was better. However, the way they animated Kyou's episode with the juxtapositions used all the time was great as well. I can't really say which one I liked more. The whole Clannad franchise is just beautiful, to quote what aero said.

Even though both arcs within the visual novel were excellent Tomoyo's OVA was done better in my opinion, mainly because I found it to be too short.

However, having said all this, KEY still did another magnificent job, creating another beautiful OVA.

Yeah, but she did that in the Visual Novel too. I never did quite get why she did, though.

i like the kyou chapter more because i like kyou
but its a pity that she cut her hair

She cut her hair because she wanted the love from Tomoya that she couldn't get because he was dating her sister, Ryou. So she cut her hair so she can look like Ryou and pretend to be her to go on a date with Tomoya.

As for the two OVAs, Tomoyo's was a lot more touching and Kyou's had a pretty slow beginning which is why it felt like it was too short. Tomoyo's OVA was fit perfectly in the 24mins time frame.

Kyou is by far my favorite character / arc, so it's hard to judge without my own bias... Kyou's arc had a LOT to fit in, and I thought they did a great job of boiling it down to one episode. Tomoyo's arc was very well done, and went at a smoother, slower pace than Kyou's. Still, I'll have to go with Kyou's.



Guys thats the whole point... she cut her hair because she wanted Tomoya to stay with Ryou, even though she really liked him too. Everything she was doing was contrary to how she really felt, and she thought that she really wanted to help Ryou... but it was just hurting her.

I really love kyou even more than Tomoyo

But , I prefer tomoyo's OVA because it was more touching

I would say Kyou chapter without any doubts, but as many said, that it would have been better if it have been made into a movie, or a longer OVA.

See, that goes against Kyou's selfless attitude so I doubt that was why she did it. Plus, she acts nothing like her sister.

So, I think what eggman said makes more sense for her character.

Oh, and by the way: I watched Kyou's ova again. I actually enjoyed it more the second time, so maybe i'll end up liking it more in the long run.
