I just saw chapter 10 for the first time in what at least 6 months and I thought it was on hiatus

So is Embalming back now or was this just a untranslated release

No, the third volume will come out next week, so the series was running, but there were no scans for the 9th chapter, that's why the translators haven't been able to do it earlier.
