saw an episode yesterday(saturday (living in japan and won a contest to see it)) and it is insane... it could have twice the hype and it still wouldn't be ruined by overly retarded expectations.

1 ep will blow your mind...

i got robbed two days before but when i sat down and watched it, all my problems just disapeared. until it was over when i remembered how much i hated tokyo (i live in kyoto) -.-

anyway Kill la Kill is insane

EDIT: also there will most very definitly almost probably be 24 episodes. the voice actors said "looking forward to serving you for the next 6months"

on a scale of 1 to TTGL episode 1

how good was episode 1 or KLK?

TTGL ep 1 definitly, if not more... about 70-80% is just epic action and insane voice acting

Thanks for the heads up!

Some other reactions:
>My soul and body trembled; this is going to become a legendary anime.
>It was just 24 minutes long, but I was completely overwhelmed. I don't have one single complaint! Oh, and Ryuuko was much cuter than I expected.
>Nothing about it was half-assed; animation and heat were full-force from beginning to end. Everything was fucking cool.
>Everyone NEEDS to watch this when it comes out in TV next week.
>It's old-school but at the same time refreshing; non-stop sexy violence from beginning to tend. This show will raise the far for hot-blood in anime.
>I'm glad it was 2D, if it had been 3D I would have died from excitement.
>It was like a non-stop rollercoaster; an incredible amount of content for one episode. Extremely interesting.
>So fucking good! I wanna cosplay Ryuuko. (btw, I'm a dude)
>It was like getting your body and whole body shaken repeatedly; super exciting! I can't wait to watch it again.
>First episode?! It was like watching a movie!
And many variations on the same overwhelmingly positive feeling.

Well the main purpose was to see the viewing but i went there earlier to see akihabara and shibuya.

I just had to write the reason for why i should win. i just mentioned my TTGL tattoos and that i've been following all KLK announcements, and a few days later i got the winner mail.

Sweet man. Wish I'd known about that. Though I can't brag for much aside from the TTGL merchandise I own. Maybe I could've said I'd advertise for 'em at the school I teach at x)

Was it done through their website? How many people were there? If you don't mind me asking, what kind of TTGL tats do you have?

...did you seriously get robbed in Tokyo?

They specifically said that over 2000 persons sent mail and only 350 were chosen.

Got robbed in Tokyo? I live there for many years and I walked alone back home inside a park past midnight without any problem whatsoever. Perhaps a bad neighborhood? Anyway, I know there are people who can't stand Tokyo coming from other cities and there are people who are from Tokyo and can't stand in other regional cities. Anyway, love Kyoto a lot myself ! Been there many times and each time I see new things, both ancient and modern, there.

Happy to see your report in the prescreen event. Sounds like a great anime! As for the length, some fans actually checked with the TV stations and confirmed it will be 2-cours. So it matches with what you heard at the event.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

as said above, about 350 from 2000 were choosen. i'd guess around 320 people actually came as many spots were empty.

I got Yoko on the right arm and soon to be done Kamina on the left.

yes, they took all the money i had left so i couldn't eat for 2 days or get back home. luckily i had paid for the kapsule hotel, and the evening of my last night, I ran into an ex-classmate staying at the exact same hotel. i only had 16 other people in my japanese class and in all of frikken tokyo she was there and i could borrow money to go back home in the morning.

It seems far to unlikely to be true but it really is.

Jesus... that was some divine luck. I assume you didn't have any cash in the bank that you could grab from an ATM huh. Good story to tell the grandkids.

On an unrelated note, I take it Daisuki isn't accessible to those living in Japan? When I try to get on their site, it's just info about the company... nothing else :/ There's no good online streaming service in Japan is there?

Damn it Kitsune, the hype meter was already maxed and you just broke it. I was seriously going to just wait this shit out and marathon it once it finished, but now I don't think I can do that. Time to join in on the Ep. 1 hype I guess.
